Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

An allegorical tale about a man fighting the good and evil within him. Both sides are made flesh - one a sophisticated woman he is attracted to and the other his wife. Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans is once again an overrated film that was made decades ago and it's only on the list because of that reason and there's nothing more to it than that and i hope that other people see that as well as for the movie itself? It was nothing sort of thoughtful or even interesting since it was just a movie about a man and his 2 sides within and that's about it people. (0/10)

Gogyohka literally translates to "five-line poem." An alternative to the tanka form, the gogyohka has very simple rules. Five lines with one phrase per line. What comprises a phrase? This silent film was very artistic and for its time looked very stunning and just caught my eye overall. Offering moments of suspense and tension and other moments of humor and humanity I never found a dull moment throughout the movie even though it was a silent film which I tend to usually find a little uninteresting. Comparing to the film "The Circus" which is the only other silent film I've seen I think I liked this one a little more. The camera work I feel was a little more intricate and the plot was a little lore interesting in my opinion as well. Also the artistic nature and overall look to this film drew me in more as well. Overall great silent film which actually made me interested in maybe seeing a few more in my free time.

A woman from the city holidays in the country. There she has an affair with a local farmer, a happily married man with a young child. He is besotted with her and the life she promises for him, to the point that, upon her suggestion, he is willing to drown his wife in order to be with her. A simple linear story that packs in so much emotion, wonder and intrigue.It's not all drama though – there are some delightfully funny parts, eg the photographer's statue, the pig.Powerful, searingly emotional ending.All done with no audio dialogue and minimal written dialogue. It's amazing how much emotion and plot development can be conveyed through gestures and facial expressions.Sunrise was the joint first winner of the Best Picture Oscar, in 1929. That year, and only that year, the Best Picture was split into two categories: Best Picture, Production and Best Picture, Unique and Artistic Production. Wings won in the former category and Sunrise in the latter.Janet Gaynor, who gave a wonderful performance as the wife, won the first ever Best Actress Oscar for a combination of her roles in Sunrise, 7th Heaven and Street Angel.
