Take Me Home (2011)
In New York City, Thom is broke and jobless, illegally working as a taxi driver. Claire is a successful business-woman, but personally she's in shambles - then comes the phone call that her estranged father is in the hospital. Not knowing what to do, Claire hops in Thom's cab and orders him to just drive and so he does. They find themselves in Pennsylvania and Claire makes the rash decision to drive across the country to California. On the road, there are many detours as the obstacles and secrets force them to learn about themselves and each other.

Wonderful Movie
This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
DVRed this from a showing on PBS because the premise seemed interesting (I love road trips myself). The movie is a cute boy meets girl story with interesting twists in the plot as Thom and Claire drive across the country and a satisfying ending. Good chemistry between the leads helps the story (which makes sense because they are married in real life).
Pleasantly surprised with the nice story about two strangers whose lives cross paths and they learn more about each other through some unexpected circumstances. Woot giving way anything, I can say my wife and I enjoyed the story and characters... Down to earth yet whimsically silly about how people respond to and develop an understanding about life and it's moments. Bravo, lovely little film. We would recommend this for anyone looking for a movie on a night in. It is a out of the way romantic comedy in a sweet way without the comedians but real folks. Never head of it but it came up on Amazon and thought we would give it a go and glad we did.
Take Me Home - perceptively a divine movie which is kind of rare to get. I absolutely felt Happiness and warmth after watching this brilliant film. The Cast Obviously got their thing. Sam Jaeger and Amber Jaeger definitely got their wonderful chemistry. The whole journey portrayed with a stunning screenplay and cinematography. The plot with the innocent characterization of Thom with hidden personal and claire with the regrettable memories carried us with them. There are no kisses and regular romantic things if you expect. Its a unbound type for a romantic movie. I loved the dialogues during thom's confession for his action when claire was asleep. I really really really had best time while watching this. If you ask me whenever i would say Take me home is one of the best romantic film i have ever seen of my entire life. Sam Jaeger's wonderful debut as director and cast with his wife is really romantic in real time. A true movie that will always be a sweet memory. Best couple in this movie and REAL LIFE too. I am thankful for this movie Jaegers. I LOVE YOU both for this heart melting treat. I wish them to give more like this. Take me home - wonderful in screenplay, cinematography, dialogues, music, casts, locations, direction. THE BEST EVER.
Take Me Home (2011)When a movie makes you want to get on the road and see the country, it's doing something right. In classic storytelling fashion, we begin with some quick and disastrous events by two characters who haven't met. Their lives are in various state of ruin (emotional or actual) and when they meet--well, the sparks definitely do not fly.But the story begins in earnest. And what is a short drive around New York transforms into the main idea of the movie. And of course the two have to find a way to get along, which involves slowly coming to understand each other mostly by letting their own old habits and presumptions fade away. The leads are actually a married couple, Sam and Amber Jaeger, and Sam is the director and writer (and producer), so yes, it's a home brew movie. But it's shot with the high end Red digital camera and it feels fully professional. And more important, the acting by these two leads, who dominate the movie completely, is terrific. You feel where both of them are coming from, and when they change it makes sense. The details of the story sometimes dip into obvious or slightly unbelievable zones. Every now and then the dialog is a hair off kilter. And maybe there could have been a slight shift in pace to keep the flow flowing. It's not a masterpiece, surely, but they know that, too. It doesn't have those kinds of ambitions. What "Take Me Home" aims for is a light, believable sincerity, a sweetness that we all recognize and sometimes need, and which doesn't get too too sugary. And on that level it's a really enjoyable movie. And it really does make you want to hit the road.
