This is one of the funniest movie of all time. I must have seen it 100 times as I know most of the lines. Even after seeing it many times you still find something funny to you missed.

Still craving for the love of his life, Ted Striker follows Elaine onto the flight that she is working on as a member of the cabin crew. Elaine doesn't want to be with Ted anymore, but when the crew and passengers fall ill from food poisoning, all eyes are on Ted. Airplane is a 1980 comedy starring Robert Hays, Peter Graves, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Leslie Nielsen and Otto. The first time that i watched this film to be honest i didn't know what to expect but i died laughing the movie has scenes where there's incredibly lots of sweat to a massive slap gatherings like i mean it's freaking insane. If you loved The Naked Gun movies or Hot Shots Airplane! is the film for you and your friends!!!

While nowadays the style of humor pioneered by the Zucker brothers and Jim Abrahams is passé - and, some would argue, practically ruined by its overbaked usage in some of their subsequent projects including the Scary Movie franchise - back then their humor was fresh, and most of the jokes in this film do indeed hold up today. There's double entendres, lots of one-liners, plenty of sight gags, a bit of politically incorrect racism and sexism, some absurd violence, the legendary scene where Barbara Billingsley says, "Oh stewardess, I speak jive," a deadpan Leslie Nielsen, and more. My favorite actor in the movie was and still is Stephen Stucker as Johnny; every time he pops up to give some anarchic and ridiculous line, it puts a smile on my face. What always struck me about this movie was that, despite all the absurd humor, the central love story does actually take itself rather seriously; Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty are perfectly cast. There's also real suspense when Hays attempts to pilot the passenger plane to safety in a storm; even with all the jokes the movie knows when to give the audience some genuine emotional beats. That was one of the biggest problems the sequel had - it jumped the shark early and often, provoking many viewers to ask "what's the point?"This one, though, is still a fun watch in 2018.

Minor spoilers included: So, it's 2017 and I'm just watching this movie. Maybe the humor from the 80's was better experienced then and could be more appreciated then as opposed to now, but I didn't find this movie all that hilarious. I found it silly and more like slapstick humor. It was alright. I liked the plot though. The synopsis on the top of this website page is quite vague saying that the man is afraid to fly. It's only because of his past military experience and his flashback of them that he is not comfortable with flying. Sometimes tragedy and life experiences cause us to fear. But he was brave enough to get on the flight as his intention was to work out the relationship he had with his girl, who just happened to be a flight attendant. So he proceeded to buy a ticket and board the same plane so he could be with her. She was going to dump him. To me, this was a sweet way to work out the kinks in their relationship that was going 'who knows where'. Did it work? Did he become 'THE' hero and/or 'HER' hero? That's for the viewer, you, to decide if you choose to watch it. It's decent, but if you want laughter, watch 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' as a throwback comedy that's got all kinds of emotions for ya. It's a very funny and touching movie with Steve Martin and John Candy. Either way, you choose!
