A Disappointing Continuation

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

This is the sickest movie ive ever seen... eww. Crappy lgbt movie which shows how distressed and disturbed those people are. Deep inside they know it so they wanna kill themselves.

I didn't think that this movie was as explicit as it turned out to be. I thought it was just a comedy with a sexual theme. So when real sex started showing on the screen I was quite surprised. I am not a prude or easily offended, but I think the movie would have been equally good, if not actually better, if they had opted to do the movie without real sex scenes.They story follows the lives of a couples therapist unable to get an orgasm, a homosexual couple looking for a way to spice up their relationship, and a dominatrix who is unable to connect to anything. Their lives and fates become entwined as they visit an underground club of carnal lust named "Shortbus".It should be said that the story is well-written and equally well put to the screen. And the characters were colorful, vivid and full of life. The story is driven by a myriad of strong characters and individual stories.As a character-driven story it is extremely important to have a cast of talented actors and actresses. The actors and actresses in "Shortbus" were really doing good jobs with their given roles and characters. Especially Sook-Yin Lee (playing Sofia) and Paul Dawson (playing James) were putting on fantastic character performances."Shortbus" is a very interesting movie story-wise. I just think tit was a shame that director John Cameron Mitchell decided to go for real sex scenes. Personally, I think it just gave a very unnecessary sleazy taint to an otherwise impressive movie.

This movie was a little strange at times and other times, I couldn't pull my eye's away and had to back it up a few times to see the scene again.A lot of people will tell you that this is a gay porn film - this is further from the truth. The only reason they say this is because for the first time, there is male frontal nudity and not only that - aroused male frontal nudity. I think this is the first movie I've seen, with the exception of Hard On - that I have seen a hard penis and not only that - a hard penis cum. In this movie you will see two guys cum. One, very dramatically and will probably make you very hot and another one in which, if every man in the world could do it - would do. But the implications of him doing this to himself is too much to handle - because there is a whole lot more going on there that meets the eye.The only thing in this picture that truly turned me off was the stalker guy and who he turned out to really be and work for. And also the fact he claimed he wasn't gay, but in the next frame was boinking the lead guy and boinking the third wheel (watch the movie and you will understand). Classic.All in all, I will watch this movie again, and only for the great story behind all of the hard ding dongs in this picture. Trust me, there is a lot more sex going on with girl on guy in this picture also - check out the orgy scene. Only one gay couple in a room full of straight men and women doing it. I think a lot of straight people were turned off by this movie because of the hard penises, because they are so used to movies having breast and other women parts coming on scene every 5 seconds.Buy this movie on DVD and watch it at home with an open mind. You will come away feeling really uplifted and maybe - a little hot for your partner.
