I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

In 1996, "Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders" made it to theaters. This movie was a horrible, no-good, really bad joke-of-a-movie because it recycled footage from a mid-1980s film release made by the same person. And that movie was known as "The Devil's Gift." Any one of the two movies are bad and would make great MST3K fare any way.Thirty years earlier, in the same year "Manos: The Hands of Fate" was being produced, "The Wild World of Batwoman" was released, and this movie used recycled footage from a then-10-years-old movie called "The Mole People;" both of which are shown on "Mystery Science Theater 3000." So, the moral of the story is: Any bad movie which is recycled to make bad things even worse will most likely make it to "Mystery Science Theater 3000."

People who rip other popular concepts off just to make a fast buck at the theatres really ought to be locked away in a special form of Colditz camp and never heard from again. The usual result is that their movie sucks and should never ever see the light of day unless it's to be heckled, a la Swimfan at my friends 18th party. With this in mind it is time for a Mr Jerry Warren to step forward. By 1966 Jerry Warren had a string of bad movies to his name already. So what better thing to do by then? No not retire, rip off the infamous Batman series starring Adam West by changing the sex of the character! This of course resulted in a lawsuit and the title of the film was changed to "She Was A Hippie Vampire" meaning it could now masquerade as a horror flick. If it were up to me I too would file a lawsuit against it. No, not because of the movie title. But because anyone who rips off the 60's Batman (one my my childhood memories) and then butchers it in such a contemptible way ought to be sued for every last penny they owe! WWOB is a truly appalling movie, one of those movies that subjects your brain to a mind screw! I found it hard to decide what was worse. This hateful garbage, or the stunningly awful Catwoman with Halle Berry. I go with this as being worse because although it's shorter, it's far worse in quality. Catwoman took a DC comic character and turned it inside out and created a mess. WWOB took a whole genre and created an antidote to it! It's not scary! There's no action! It's boring, it's cheesy, it's terrible! It's not a horror or action film. It's a mess!Remember what your kids use to make Nickelodeon movies? Just by cutting snippets and putting them together. That's what this is like. Nothing at all makes sense, it's just an excuse to string together all sorts of crap together and have scantily clad bimbos act it out.Well when I say ACT i mean it very loosely. Never has acting been so wooden and boring. "Gee Bat.Girl. We.Should.Warn.The.Police.Of.This.Crime." or something like that. Oh and by the way, yes it does sound like that, And YES! That line was actually spoken in a superhero horror film! The girls actually let the POLICE solve their crimes? Ever seen Batman and Superman get it that easy? No. And there's a reason for that! Again, it's mind boggling how this ever got a seal of approval! I'll tell you what, don't ever, ever watch this film. It's just truly awful. OK? Just don't.

How can this be a real movie? How can even the filmmakers take it seriously? What in Gordon's name is up with that Prof. Neon guy? This movie is a joke.First off, Bob Kane should have sued these people the moment this movie was marketed. Any fan of Batman, or anyone that knows of the comic for that matter, should be offended by this film, as should anyone who speaks an East Asian language (I'll get to that). Secondly, this is terrible! Ter-ri-ble! Not only is the plot incredibly vague, it's just plain ridiculous. Atomic hearing aid? About ten minutes all together of Go-go dancing sequences? Girls pledging loyalty to the forces of good who don't do ANYTHING when they see a man being MUGGED AND STABBED (the horrible opening sequence)? This is supposed to be seen as a crime/action flick, but has elements, humor, and dialogue that would only appeal to an audience of children, and not very bright children at that. And it insults anything it touches. Even the poster makes no sense. Batwoman is about to be attacked by a mole person, yet in the movie the mole people don't even have twenty seconds of screen time, nor do they interact with other characters. I'm glad I only saw the MST3K version, or I'd have been stupified to a drooling baffoon by the end of the first fifteen minutes. The only thing worse than the acting and writing is the characters themselves. They are silly, stupid, and above all idiotic. Especially the Chinese spirit. It's just a voice over, but is clearly not even speaking Chinese. I appologize for the maker of this movie to anyone who takes offense to such racial ignorance.Save yourselves, viewers. Just don't see it. Don't even look at the poster.

To call a movie "camp" and insist that those who dislike it just don't get it is a lame excuse for a bad movie. Good camp exists (Evil Dead 2, anyone?), but this movie does not fit into that category, whatever Jerry Warren's intentions were. This movie is flat-out awful. Terrible acting, blatant use of footage from other movies, poor sound, nonsensical story. This movie is not only bad, it's offensive. A girl falls in love with a man after he kidnaps her and leads her around with a rope tied around her neck for half the movie. The villain implies that captive girls will be used to mate with monsters (ew). And a séance is held (?) in which a spirit speaks stereotypical fake Chinese! Aggh! And a little side-note to the MST-hater who commented earlier--hate MST if you like, it's certainly not for everyone, but you obviously have not seen the episode for this movie. If you had, you would know that the lame, "Look, it's Sheena, Queen of the Jungle" joke is not actually in the episode. The MST DVD/VHS covers frequently (but not always) feature jokes based on the cover image, not riffs that are in the actual episode. And yes, these jokes are usually really dumb, and I would venture to guess that they were not written by the MST writers.Anyway, horrible movie.
