In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

I caught the start of this on the Sci-fi channel a while back but I fell asleep before the end (not a testimony to how bad it was or anything, it was on at 3am). Much to my delight I found it for £3 online so I happily added it to my zombie collection. The story revolves around Dean Cain who is dead, a zombie but not quite the evil kind unless he gets hungry (good idea to carry a bag of steaks around in his presence). He wants to get to the bottom of why he's dead yet alive. There are some incredibly silly parts including the fact Dean Cain heals instantly every time he is hurt. How would his cells regenerate if he was dead? That and the overacting from his sidekick who steal's Will Smith's number one catchphrase. If you're expecting a hardcore zombie film you'll be sorely disappointed. If you want a lighthearted look at the living dead with some nice green splatter special effects and Dean Cain flashing his man-boobs then this is exactly what you need.A slightly above average 6 out of 10.

You don't need an intelligent script. ("More holes than a Michael bay film"....yes, but Michael Bay films are watchable!!)You don't need quality acting. (The master at work indeed...Dean Cain....look at him go...)You don't need to make sense. (Scorpions turn you into a zombie!!)You don't need to spend money. (Marvel at the effects)Throw any old junk together. Don't spend to much time developing it or making it or even caring about what your doing. Why do all Starz Media films start with a bunch of soldiers in the jungle? Then proceed into the realms of utter nonsense?Yes the internet may be contributing to the demise of fine feature films but drivel like this being made and then being reviewed as "Great", "Excellent movie" and "Better than expected." can't be helping. Films like this a lowering the quality bar. There will always be an audience for this type of terrible movie and they'll always claim:-"It's a great movie, best zombie flick ever" - What other zombie films have you seen exactly?"Ideal for Saturday night fun!" You really should get out more if you think Saturday night would be improved by this."Better than expected" That says it all, you thought it'd be a bad movie before you watched it.......so why did you watch it? If you thought "Fire may burn my body" would you then jump into a fire to see if it's a bad a burning as you thought?Unless...How many of the reviewers above actually work for the company that produced the film. Does IMDb double check this?I'm lucky, I'm being paid to watch this drivel. I'd advise you to avoid it (and anything else Starz Media produces) if your not in such a fortunate position. However if your a brain dead text jockey, suffering from an excess of forehead grease, who gets his jollies off by seeing more blood, more bad acting, nonsensical plots and some very feeble post modernist pop culture references...then this is the movie for you! They have the cheek to have a pop at Michael bay in this film, his films may have plot holes but they're far superior to this hokum! And ultimately more watchable and more profitable. Film making used to an art form once......

I wasn't expecting much from this, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. First off I'll get the bad out of the way. The Kevin Smith style humor, and one liners were pretty hit and miss. I generally liked the cast, they had chemistry, and I found them amusing, however some of the lines were totally copied from Smith's films. Including a rant on who the better James Bond was between Roger Moore, and Sean Connery. And even the humorous moment where Timothy Dalton was mentioned. If you've seen those films, then you know what I mean. Another mild compliant is I loved Armin Shimmerman's character, and would have liked to have seen him with more screen time. Now with that out of the way, I'll get to the overwhelming good. First off the blood and gore effects were top notch. For what was mostly a lighthearted comedy/horror, it gets pretty darn messy. Heads being exploded from ceiling fans, scorpions torn out from inside a person's flesh, and more. It definitely came through for us gore hounds. And the cast, although again some humor fell flat, delivered. All in all, a very good movie. Check it out.

I gave this movie a 8/10 just cuz they show it on scifi and kept a lot of the bloody scenes in...most of the time...well if you've ever seen a horror movie on A&E for example or late at night on TBS...you know what i mean. But the special effects aren't amazing...but they are great for a low budget movie. Its funny, gory, Dean Cain can still act! Susan Ward was great as she is hot! I didn't even know she was in it...but i'd recommend seeing this cuz its just fun for being on a scifi and not the big screen...heck i'm gonna buy it on DVD if i can find it :) p.s. not everything in movies has to make sense to be enjoyable...sometimes its just gotta be fun to watch!
