I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

Like Mike 2: Streetball is a direct-to-video film sequel to Like Mike.It stars Jascha Washington,Kel Mitchell,Michael Beach,Brett Kelly,Micah Williams and Michael Adamthwaite. David Nelson directed it. Jerome and his friends are very adept at street ball, but are no match for the older boys in their neighborhood. When the friends realize a street ball team called Game On is coming to town to look for talent, they practice extra hard. His dad rarely makes time for his son; after one of his short visits, Jerome is shooting some hoops and notices the pair of shoes from the first movie hanging up by a streetlight. Jerome retrieves the shoes, which are soon afterward hit by lightning, giving their wearer the ability to play as well as Michael Jordan. Now, as Jerome's newfound talents send him rocketing to street stardom and his swelling ego eclipses his youthful sense of wonder, it's up to the street-ball superstar's family and friends to show him what it really means to be a winner on the court as well as off. Compared to other direct-to-DVD offerings, at least this sequel has an amusing plot, with decent performances and even a few laughs. While not as famous as Bow Wow when he starred in the original Like Mike, Washington is charming enough to carry the story of a young teen that just really wants to be great at basketball. Although it isn't an instant classic, this is the kind of light-hearted sports movie that will entertain and educate teens of some basic truths on and off the court: showboating and stealing your team's thunder isn't cool; friends should be forever, not just when it's convenient; and fathers and sons need each other's support and encouragement.

I haven't watched the first one, but I still managed to follow the complex plot through its many twists and turns, and the ingenious and original concept. In fact, having caught this direct-to-video sequel on television, I now feel enlightened. Seriously though... it can't just be me, can we all just agree that there are too many of these flicks? I'm not so much talking about the "underdog rises up in *insert sport here*, gets the recognition and attention he's always wanted only to learn an important lesson", I am referring to the fact that there are several based around this exact idea, the kid who wants to be a superior player finding a pair of magical shoes. Is there a deranged wizard running around somewhere, enchanting footwear wherever he goes? Honestly, what are the *odds* of this happening, and numerous times in different American cities, no less? And are they actually all about basketball? On the plus side, this has a nice amount of game footage, and it's not half bad. The jokes and gags are pretty standard, mostly silly material, including a little bit of gross-out comedy. Music is cool and usually reasonably good, too. Acting varies, typically around average. The message is fine, and its delivery is OK. Editing, cinematography and special effects have their moments. I recommend this to fans of these movies. If such exist. 5/10

OK, first of all, this movie is absolutely terrible. The plot line sucks, and the characters are so dumb (like they are incapable of thinking) and unrealistic that they actually made me mad. Then, the main points are the same as the first Like Mike (finds shoes during lightning storm, becomes good, shoes break). It's really dumb. The screenplay writers should've made their own movie, not redone the first one. Oh, yes, and some of his basketball moves are impossible and would have people thinking he was a magician, NOT a great basketball player. And, he looks at his shoes every time he does something amazing. And, no one realizes his shoes are special. It doesn't even make sense. My advice to you is to stop with Like Mike 1, and not waste your time and money. I would never recommend this movie to anyone, and if they come out with #3, well, that just wouldn't be cool.

I have seen this movie and my comment is that this movie is worth your time and money. It's moral is really important and the comedy and basketball moves are new and funny. This movie is way better than the first one. The acting was O.K, the acting in part one was better too(especially Lil' Romeo). the basketball moves were totally perfect. This movie has a lot more focus on the characters, not too much on the shoe. This movie has a great script and the effects were electrifying. This movie even had a lot of characters which is really hard to put in any movie but this one, this one was the king of all. Jascha Washington was a great actor and performed in his role really good. Micheal Beach's play was exactly how most basketball fathers are in actual life. For the first time in this movie the mother was wrong and the father was right. This was really surprising. I love Kel Mitchell. He made the movie really great with him being a player and all. I love it when they call him family and someone always say even him himself, "I'm Jerome's cousin's ex-boyfriend's brother. This movie was the bomb.
