It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Gay men trying to get chicks while drunk. Sound like a winner. This is the best party movie ever made with geeks. It's dated but a heartwarming story of Nelson trying to get laid. There is no substance at all and there should not be. This is a film that shows what Fort Lauderdale was like in the late 70's - early 80's. I was there at that time and it's just like this film. In fact except for the Hotel being closed so Nelson's step father can win a uhm oh whatever... it's a documentary. Wet t shirt contests, drinking games and sweaty sticky sex. Look for a cameo by Bob Guccioni's ex and Penthouse Pet of the year Sheila Kennedy (Scott Baio is 45 and single). Good soundtrack too.

I've done some research on this issue and the rights to spring break belonged to Columbia pictures, then Sony pictures acquired the rights during the Columbia pictures buy out or merger or whatever you wanna call it. do as i am doing and send Sony an email and ask them to release this awesome movie on DVD, I have been waiting for this movie to be released for years. If they can put "Chips" on DVD then they really need to release this movie. so if you wanna join me in getting this movie on DVD copy down the email address below and write them to help them realize what we are missing from our collections. the email is [email protected]

This movie rules for a couple reasons: 1) Corrine Alphen, hotness incarnate 2) Nerds get laid and look cool doing it 3)The most audacious belly flop scene in cinematic history. ...and who can forget 'The amazing Gut-Gut'!? It simple, it's fun, and I wish it would come out on DVD. I love this movie and would swoop it up in a heartbeat. It's also a great anti-establishment movie as our hero crushes the efforts of his politician step-dad to crush his Ft Lauderdale fling. I can't say enough about this film. Should it win an Oscar? No. Is it timeless, mindless fun to help you reminisce about the past or forget about the present? Heck yeah.

This movie fueled my pre-adolescent dreams of loose chicks and beer diving. The soundtrack includes such memorable tunes as "Tijuana bring your mother to the gang-bang" and "I wanna do it to it - I wanna do it to you." This flick has made me what I am today. Bless you 'Spring Break', bless you.Of course Spring Break isn't a master piece. It isn't supposed to be. Just one of those late night HBO flicks from the 80's that they played over and over and over again.Since the good people at IMDb are forcing me to write at least 10 lines I guess I should try to say something more. College kids break free from the clutches of their paternal guardians and discover what it means to be ... well, drunk and stupid. The movie offers no great insight into the human mind or spirit - not every movie should. It didn't have the actors as Farris Buehler or Fast Times at Ridgemount High (nor the budget) but it was fun. Kind of a "watered-down" version of 'Girls Gone Wild' except you won't see your sister or daughter disgracing herself.
