As Good As It Gets

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

When it comes to movies, I find that good writing, and a few creative ideas, can make up for a lack of budget or otherwise cheap look and feel. When the writing fails however, poor execution becomes ever so much more apparent. Crossover suffers quite badly from this, the cinematography, visual effects, music, setting, and acting are all a bit shoddy, yet it is clear the director was aiming for a film that looked cool, rather than at any quality story telling. The movie suffers further from not knowing what it is, art of it is a sports movie, part of it is a hip-hop gangsta' type thing, and part of it is "love" story. Like many other multi-purpose things, it doesn't do any one ting very well, and ends up feeling very underwhelming. So far so bad, what really makes this thing annoying (and thus makes it worthy of such a low grade) is that all the conflict in it, there are several smaller ones besides the main one, is oh so very forced. As such, they are also quickly resolved without consequence. Forced conflict that has no bearing on the story is a waste of paper, and a waste of my time.

Great movie!, This was a great movie! It tells the truth of how a basketball player can go pro and have a hard time fitting in with all the pressure out there. Very good movie! I love the edge to this movie. It's not over the top. Just enough to keep it interesting, but still be PG. Surprisingly good acting skills demonstrated by Wayne Brady. I don't know. I would not qualify it as one. Honestly, I am embarrassed to have seen this movie. It was not my choice, There was no legitimate plot line throughout the movie, except for the fact that there was some "underground" basketball league or something.Wayne Brady is way better than this, and the fact that he was in it was probably the only reason to not leave within the first 5 minutes.I think a better description of this would be garbage on film and not a movie. If you by some reason in hell had to see this movie, I suggest getting drunk or high, thats the only way you will make it through this crap.

the dudes chattin crap, this is one of the most refreshing films I've seen lately. For once , why don't you look at the way the films been shot instead of all the build up behind it, or what you might see behind it , i mean, did you notice the slight hints of soft melody jazz in the scenes with less light, or where, he's talking to his mum bout food, how the music follows his words. Or How bout the way the light hits against the graffiti train, lettin you feel where you are, yet not close enough to actually get it, low budget, some of the best films are low budget man, unless you talking bout crappy thrills. This film was decent.Or how much the characters suited the parts, i guess it all bout how u see it right? makes u wanna play peace.
