It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

I rented this for 3 dollars on Google Play. Why? Im a big horror fan but this is just idiotic. I would agree with those reviews here that says the script makes no sense. Fx why would the guy with the glasses be some kind of psycho? What is the connection of the two psychos from the first segment to the laughing man? The plot is a boy tortured a rat when a child and he wants revenge on three of his female classmates for making fun of him. So who are those two psychos from the first segment and what are their connection to the laughing man? Besides that everything is just jumping out of air to connect and suddenly she goes from a building to a truck and stabs the laughing man and then gets out of her trap. I agree with those that say the clown is pretty cool. This segment was a bit like A Stranger Calls. Pretty good actually. Anyway I am all for suspension of disbelief but this movie just does not make much sense.

Some of the reviews on here state that this movie had a terrible/incomplete story line. I disagree. Although there are small details omitted (such as WHY the killer did what he did), I think there's just enough detail to let you figure it out yourself. The only thing I dislike about the plot is that the clown idea wasn't revisited (unless I just missed it...) after he did his "thang". Also, there wasn't a ton of character development, but I didn't hate them either so there's that. running total: -3I watched this at home because it happened to be on TV. In the past I have had recurring nightmares of coming home and feeling like there's a killer in my home and trying to get out of my home but can't get away from the killer (either because I'm on the top floor or he's got friends at every door of the house). This movie revisits that fear (not directly, but same idea), leaving me feeling very nervous to go to sleep in my apartment. And any movie that leaves me feeling that way is a movie that deserves at least 5 stars out of 10. running total: +2The remaining stars given were simply because I enjoyed the visual aspects of the movie. I liked all the 'contraptions' in the mansion and the different scenes/locations that the characters were in. It wasn't just a killer in a house. It may not have been the most unique storyline but it's pretty hard to do that as almost everything has been thought up and this movie definitely stole a few ideas from other movies. Not a deal-breaker for me, though.I would probably watch this movie again to try to fill in some blanks, but I still give it an overall 7 out of 10 for doing its job: scaring me.

When I first saw the preview for this film I thought, "Wow looks pretty freaky." So, one day I looked it up on netflix and watched it. Well by the end of the movie the only thing I could say was "What?" I mean right from the beginning this movie made absolutely no sense. So here's an example/SPOILER. The first scene of the movie shows a young couple going on a convoy (following someone completely random)to a gas station. Once they get there they get out of the car and meet the person they were following (which just happens to be the killer who is targeting the girl out of the young couple). Another small example/SPOILER would be when the main character is being interviewed by a detective and then once she leaves the room, the main character follows only to find that she's not even in a police station, instead she's in what appears to be a large dungeon? This didn't make an ounce of sense to me. But anyway, the only thing that was good was the production value, but that's it. Cheap dialogue, corny acting and lack of common sense are seen every character making this nothing more than another typically crappy horror film. The story was weird and was a bit pointless in a sense of logic, but it was creepy at a few points. This movie is short though, so watch it if you want something to make fun of. I gave it 1 star for the decent gore and the other for production value.

Amusement is a movie that I've had on my list for quite some time, mostly because of the scary ass clown on the cover. Like 99.9% of the cover art done for modern day movies, it's greatly misleading. There is one semi-intense scene that will provoke your coulrophobia and it was only included, I suspect, as an excuse to create an enticing DVD spread for horror fans.Starting off with the plot, this movie doesn't have one, at least not a coherent one or one that makes an iota of sense. The film is a mish mash of discombobulated scenarios consisting of a maniac stalking three young women because they they didn't find his mutilated-rat-in-a-box particularly funny or entertaining a decade earlier. Talk about holding a grudge. A dumb one.Visually, the movie works. I mean, really works. So does the acting, surprisingly. All of the violence is done off-camera. This isn't a slasher, torture porn (although, with different direction, it could have easily ventured into that territory), or even a mystery/suspense. It was originally slated for theatrical release until the distributor sent it packing straight-to-video after viewing it and it's no brainteaser why. Despite above-par acting and some pretty kick ass locations and sets, Amusement is dragged down by a muddled script, zero scares, and a cookie-cutter villain. It's not even so bad, it's funny.
