The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

An year ago, one could only think of Khans as the Superstars of bollywood, but then suddenly a young, charming as well as talented actor came and changed the equation. Ranbeer Kapoor has always been my favorite, reason being his sense of choosing the scripts. He has always taken nice scripts right from 'Wake up sid' , ' Rocketsingh', 'Rajneeti', 'Rockstar' and my all time favourite "Barfi', but as they say heavy paychecks can make the most talented people do the cheapest things one can imagine. Directed by Abhinav Kashyap who has previously directed 'Dabangg', 'Besharam' is nothing but one more masala flick which lowers the standard of bollywood.Babli (Ranbeer Kapoor), is a thief who steals cars and sell them to earn money, and like our bollywood heroes, he is the man with a golden heart who gives all the money to the orphanage he lives in. He meets Taara(Pallavi Sharda) a middle class girl who lives with her mother, and falls in love with her. By mistake, Babli steals Tara's car and when she get to know this, Babli promises her that he will bring the car back and leave all the illegal things that he does.Besharam, is the height of bollywood stereotypism, there is nothing that we haven't seen before, and what makes it worse is the direction. Even though Abhinav Kashyap's first outing 'Dabangg' was not a good film by any means but it was way better then what Besharam is. Dialogs are bad, jokes don't work, songs are boring and too many.Talking about performances, Ranbeer tried to enter into the Salmaan Zone, but forgot to read the warning "Only for brainless people", though the actor tried very hard to look convincing, but the story and the characterization was so weak that it did not go to the level that we expect from Ranbeer. Pallavi Sharda is a complete misfit, she has had one angry look throughout the movie, even in the romantic scenes. Rishi Kapoor as inspector Chulbul Chautala is as always brilliant, I wonder what made him work on such a pathetic script. Neetu Singh Kapoor is top notch as the cunning wife. Javed Jaffery as the bad guy is very good as well.'Besharam' is the biggest disappointment of the year so far, it had a mediocre director, a super talented main lead and a wonderful supporting cast but what came out on screen is a senseless, idiotic piece of cinema that we all have witnessed many times before. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this one even if someone gives you a free ticket.

Besharam is a very very simple rom com..It is not so bad to watch. The only problem with besharam is that you don't expect an average movie from superstar like ranbir kapoor and dabbang director mr kashyap. That is the reason which let it down as audience had very high expectations and with such expectations even an average movie can't save itself..I watched it yesterday with almost no expectations and guess what i did not get bored.Everything was average from screenplay to direction.Even Ranbir was in his usual avatar..First half was average and second one below average due to its predictability..All in all Besharam in my opinion is a bit underrated and like an other average movie deserves 5 out 10..You can watch it..

After the success of critically and commercially successful Barfi(2012) and the blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani(2013), Ranbir Kapoor returns with the much hyped Besharam. The film was hyped up mainly because it had Ranbir Kapoor and it was the return of Abhinav Kashyap(the director of Dabangg). Kashyap probably though that an action comedy with the new superstar Ranbir would give him a 100 crore hit. However, that doesn't seem possible because the film has completely nose dived after a 20 crore start on Wednesday.Besharam is the story of a car thief who steals car for a living, he donates more than half of his money to the orphanage he was raised in. He is a very shameless person and you can see this based on the amount of Besharami in him. The film has so much slapstick humour and it tries really hard to make you laugh but it only succeeds partially. The love story between Babli and Tara is poorly handled, there is no chemistry between the lead pair. It is hard to digest the fact that a qualified and stubborn girl falls for a shameless boy because he helps her get her car back(the same one he stole from her). The only thing that works to an extent is the action scenes and the clash between Chandel and Babli. The end is predictable with an ending which is very similar to Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani(a much better film of Ranbir Kapoor).Direction by Abhinav Kashyap is bad, this movies pales in front of Dabangg(2010) which wasn't novel but well handled and clap worthy. The initial scenes are good but the film's pace drops, there are too many songs in the first half, and there are many comedy scenes in the first half which fail to make you laugh. The biggest problem is the weak humour which fails to make you laugh in many parts. The scene where Ranbir takes his friend's socks out of his pants is just crude and the scene where he takes a bath is meant to make you laugh but it just doesn't work, it's silly, not funny.Music is OK but there are way too many songs. The title song is the best while the song at the random wedding is average, the song in the car when they are going to Chandigarh is good while the rest are just fillers. However, the songs aren't placed properly.Ranbir Kapoor is good but this genre doesn't suit him. He was much better in YJHD(2013) and most of his previous films. He does make you laugh in places and his expressions are good but this act is average compared to his natural charismatic act in YJHD and Barfi. Pallavi Sharda does a good job as a debutant, she does act like a stubborn girl but the chemistry between her and Ranbir isn't good, it's just weak. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor do a decent job though some of their dialogs are crude and the toilet scenes of Rishi Kapoor are just silly and crude. This is the first time the Kapoor parents and their son Ranbir comes together but they fail to successfully steal the hearts of the audience. Javed Jaffery for once acts well and does well as the villain. The rest of the supporting cast has acted well.On the whole, Besharam is another bad film which fails to succeed as an action comedy. Watch this film only for Ranbir's acting and the songs, and the heroine's acting. The film is a big disappointment and it probably won't do well at the box office, it might recover it's 60 crores cost. This means the film can be an average grosser at it's best.
