In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

The first impression I got from this short movie was just simply beautiful. This is only three minutes movie and I emotionally attached to its story. I never imagined that the idea itself only came from designated six lines. I love how they developed these short lines into something amazing and beyond imagination. This movie tells about a young boy from the NAZI regime who meets a young Jewish girl holding a porcelain unicorn during the war. The interactions between these little kids is really touching. They are only kids, and they do not see each other as enemy. The plot is so heart-warming and the ending is unexpected. The camera work is impressive as well. The characteristics look realistic. The moral value I could get from this movie is about humanity, love between human knows no boundaries. I must say this movie is worth watching. You will enjoy it and make sure to take out a tissue!

The Porcelain Unicorn is not a novel work like scientific fiction. Rather the background of the story where a German boy meets a Jewish girl sounds very realistic if you know the history of Germany during WWII. Though the setting is dark as you may see, the short film is so touching and even made me happy after watching. I think this emotional effect highly relies on the film's structure. The director did a great job in that he connected an old protagonist in the beginning, young protagonists in the middle, and back to the old protagonists at the end naturally. You can stay sympathizing them without being distracted while watching. The porcelain unicorn, not the title but an item in the film, also plays a crucial part in the film. The delivered images of porcelain such as pure or fragile resonates with that of characters' throughout the story. The unicorn is not just a toy passed among characters but a key object that portrays characters indirectly. Speaking of indirectness, there are some lines that can be interpreted in more that one way. I have already watched it twice and will watch it again, looking for new discoveries.

I am impressed by this movie. It makes me surprised. First of all, there are only five lines. Although it is a short story, the lines are too few. However, I can understand the story. Why? It is because of the visuals. There are some movies which do not have lines, but they have the background music and visual. We can understand the story if they are there. I think that the line is just a decoration which helps people to understand easily. It means we can know what the characters are doing without lines. In my opinion, the short movie like this should be clear. If there are a lot of lines, people have a lot of information and are confused. They cannot enjoy enough, so screenwriters have to make movies simple, and people fun. That is a important point in making movies. The movie made me think so. However, the movies should not always be clear. The complex ones are also interesting.

This short movie is about a friendship between elderly people. The beginning of their friendship goes back to their childhood, and this movie starts with the scene that a boy meets a mysterious girl in a dark closet. This movie focuses on consideration to other people. The boy's action is always thinks about the girl, and his expression tells us what he really sympathizes with her. The girl is also worried about the boy because he protects her from something. On this other hand, the adults' cruel behavior compares with their sympathy for each other and pure feelings. The heartless of an adult accentuates their innocent feelings by the scenes the man hits the boy, and the man stamps on a ceramic object. I think the ending is the result that they think about one another. Moreover, the amazing point in this movie is using only 6 lines of dialog. I pay attention to how this movie uses this words "it's a unicorn", but I did not think how important a unicorn is in this movie. I think it is difficult to express their completed feelings by using only 6 lines of dialog, but this movie can do it because of the characters' expression. I like this movie since I am touched by their pure feelings and consideration.
