A story that imagines how these real-world phenomena may be related. In this story, startling amateur video and photographic evidence, as well as additional audio recordings, suggests whales weren’t the only creatures affected by the Navy’s sonar. The film follows the two scientists who tracked the whale beachings for years and delivers first-hand, on-camera accounts of what they claim to have discovered in the aftermath of one particular beaching. Their story is nothing less than fantastical: they claim to have found the remains of a mermaid.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I sat glued to the television cursing and scratching away at NOAA and our US Navy as this web of bull excrement played on ... This poor excuse for a network misrepresented itself as far as I am concerned. If these nitwits had bashed any other Public or Private Agency , they would have had their pants sued off ! Still should as far as I am concerned. After watching this garbage last year and mainly catching the end of it, I again fell for the highlighted updates that they performed. I would like to feed all of these actors and network executives to a Great White Shark. I want 4 or 5 hours of my wasted time BACK ! I sat thru 50000 stupid commercials and waited on each lie to roll out of my television..So glad I recorded WALKING DEAD !This Crying Wolf is the number one reason that so much misinformation runs rampant !Shame on you !

This show is the reason I quit watching Animal Planet and Discovery Channel. After the initial airing and subsequent negative feedback, I thought they had learned their lesson. I just saw that they are re- broadcasting this pathetic show. The very nature of both networks has been completely compromised by this "found footage" rip off. Every development executive involved in this project should have been fired immediately. Now I see they are actually re-broadcasting this garbage. Thank goodness for Natgeo and PBS. I really love nature television but I have lost faith in the credibility of the information presented on Animal Planet and Discovery Channel.

I do agree with everyone that Animal Planet and Discovery Channel has, for the most part, lost their factual take on shows and specials, and after watching this, I've lost my respect with both. The fact is, is that we're not here for 'What If' documentaries that claim to be true when they aren't! Not only was it stupid but also very dramatized and hard to sit through all of it. If most people are curious to watch it because of the horrible reviews its getting, to have their own opinions... There are better things to do with this time, such as: biting all your fingernails completely off, giving yourself 1000 paper cuts on your face, take a nap on shards of broken glass, or to even have all your blood sucked out by leeches... All in which would be more productive and entertaining/informative....All in all, fake (duh), stupid, waste of time and widely advertised as a documentary that only belongs on the sci fy Chanel, not either one that people are supposed to have any respect for factual documentaries on! Animal Planet, Discovery.. You disgust me...

I was certain that it was a fake until the middle of it. (Or at least an huge extrapolation of the facts). Then, the story was so appealing that I started to wonder why would Discovery Channel show a fake documentary. Maybe there was some true in it.From the middle on I decided that the fact that it couldn't be proved false was a much more interesting way of seeing it. All the ideas in the story were well developed and I loved the example of the Neanderthals. We shared the planet with them until very recently.Sad for being a misleading movie, though. Would have been better to explain it in the beginning.
