All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Terror in the Mall was on Lifetime Movie Network this afternoon, with Rob Estes (Silk Stalkings, Melrose Place) starring. This movie is about a group of people trapped in a new shopping mall one evening during a flood. The mall is slated to open for the first time to the public the following day, so only a few people are in it the evening before for various reasons when they become trapped. Terror and chaos ensues when an escaped convict holds the small group hostage. Shannon Sturges also stars.I really liked this one. Estes plays his part to perfection, and Sturges was convincing. Terence Maynard, Angeline Ball, and Kai Wiesinger (as Sturges' husband) also did a nice job. Fun to watch on a rainy day.
Typical "made for Tv" movie and it shows. Plastic scenes, plastic acting and poor plot. One question - Would you build a large shopping mall right next to a big dam????
This movie was a victim of mediocre writing and bad directing. Rob Estes was just fine in the role of an escaped killer. He was more than capable in the action scenes and managed to rise above the material. The film, though, was filled with cliches and some sub-standard supporting performances. The direction was jerky and clipped. This could have been an excellent action movie with an improved script. While still a watchable film, it was all Estes and not much else.
I LOVED this movie! I'm a big fan of Rob Estes. He's sooo cute and did GREAT as 'Sgt. Chris "Sam" Lorenzo' on USA Network's original series Silk Stalkings. I'm still a BIG fan of silk. He's doing great on Melrose Place as 'Kyle McBride.' Keep up the good work, Rob! You're a GREAT actor. I really thought he played the role of Glenn perfect, but I didn't really like him playing bad guy. Anyway, this was one of the best action movies from FOX Original Movies!
