I love this movie so much
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Even for a German comedy this is incredibly bad. The film is cheaply made, absolutely not funny, filled with childish jokes. Usually at least the German actors hold their own against terrible scripts. But even that is not the case here.
First of all the movie deals with god and his potential successor. This movie is not a typical German comedy. It is more like a comic and i would compare it with the movies by Kevin Smith. It is a production of the "Wueste Filmproduktion", the guys who also made the movies by Fatih Akim which were no doubt great films. You don't have to take "Ein Goettlicher Job" seriously, then you have a lot of fun with it. The actors are the German elite especially Oliver Korittke did a very good job. Conclusion: Don't listen to the critics...
