A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I try to give all of the movies I see an honest, unbiased rating. For some reason I feel weird giving this a 9/10 rating, just because I didn't know what to expect going into it. I saw the trailer a few months ago and put it in my watch list for later. Today I saw it on Netflix and without any anticipation and on impulse just put it on. Along with an estimated $50,000 budget, Parker Croft and Emilia Zoryan are young, virtually unknown actors, which initially sparked my interest. I was excited to see some new talent and was interested in what was made out of the given budget. This is a story of young love. It is raw, awkward, emotional, funny, sad, tragic and most importantly realistic. Elliot (Croft) and Chloe (Zoryan) cross paths and connect instantly. Chloe is a photographer and invites Elliot to her art show that night, and from there a love story begins to unravel. From parties and shows to a small kick back in the hills and we meet different groups of interesting friends that are out partying and enjoying the night, all while Elliot and Chloe become closer and closer in a matter of hours. It really took a little bit for the characters to grow on me. Through the social awkwardness and little mishaps I finally begun to really like the characters. I took into account Elliot's condition and was very interested in how he would reveal this to Chloe. You learn about this in the beginning of the movie and as the story progresses the condition turns into an overbearing secret. I was anticipating the revelation of this secret to Chloe and I thought it was executed perfectly. This is a simple and realistic love story between two young lovers captured in a sort of cinéma vérité style in the glowing and active city of Los Angeles.

I've been waiting for this movie since I watched the trailer 3 months ago. The song used for the trailer 'Search and Destroy by Sanders Bohlke', also used in the films background kept me hold on this movie for so long and finally I got to watch it over an exhausted weekend. The film is very simple and moves silently and then takes pace when Chloe enters. The beautiful thing about the film is its optimistic flow, even though the theme is quite serious. 22 old Elliot Carson on the day before he has surgery to remove a brain tumor, he meets Chloe Webb, a young photographer. She invites him to her art show and since they meet at an art show, their night goes together with parties at friend's house, hiking, biking. Their relation is going strong every moment and even Elliot forgetting everything enjoys them with Chloe. When Elliot breaks the news to Chloe about his surgery, Chloe breaks down into grief. They both knows, in a short span of time they spent together, they have fallen for each other. And Elliot has an uncertain future.I'm always fond of small budget, intense subject and some outstanding performance genre films. This movie is 86 minutes long (or short excluding end titles :)), Budgeted $50,000 (estimated) and awesome performance by Writer, Actor Parker Croft. Debutant Emilia Zoryan looks promising as well. both are confident, talented actors and have a bright future. Supporting cast does their job well. worth mentioning Cinematography by writer/director Conrad Jackson and Sound Department. Every song used in the movie is nice and situational. The almost end scene when Elliot and Chloe goes to her room and you get to see Parker's powerful acting skills, the start of 'Search and Destroy' song almost makes goose bumps.Performance wise the lead pair scores best. Emilia is so stunning and graceful that in all her scenes, it's hard to keep your eyes off her. I think in the beginning, the pace of the film could have been more faster. Few of the characters and scenes looks rigid and mechanical. And even though 86 minutes, it could have explored more of Elliot and Chloe's relation. But still the film is quite nice and peaceful.'Falling Overnight' has won 9 awards so far and out of them Parker Croft has grabbed 7 Best Actor awards. I look forward for these young actors in upcoming projects. This film has to be experienced at least once. I love the Romance, Drama, Music and you get all of them in it in some satisfying ways.

I've seen the trailer a while ago and thought this might be a good movie. Didn't really expect anything super special, just something you consider watching whenever. Yesterday I finally decided to watch the film, simply because I felt like watching a Drama. The first thing you hear is this song. I've never heard it before and I really liked it (Shaun Rust - On Your Side). When a movie starts off with a great song I just get excited about what's to come. Music in a movie is always really important to me, I did like all of them here. They were perfectly chosen. Then there's the story. Though it is a Drama, having parts where you're in tears, it does have some happy moments where you smile while watching it. When a film gets you to show emotions, in this case several ones, it's a huge compliment to it. The story is fantastic. The ending could have gone differently but I like when you have to think about how it's going on yourself. That also makes a movie fantastic, when it gets you to think about the rest. This film is definitely a must see. I don't often tell friends you HAVE TO watch this and that movie but I will with this one. It's simple, yet amazing.

The basic premise of "Falling Overnight" might make some think that the film is a real downer but it's really not, sure the general plot seems bleak but there's more to the film once it gets going. The film is about Elliot, a 22 year-old who has been diagnosed with brain tumor. Between the headaches, nausea, sensitivity to light and not sleeping Elliot is certainly not in a very good frame of mind and the uncertainly of his future makes it that much more difficult. That is until he meets the beautiful Chloe at her day job when he stops in to buy a drink. He notices an ad for an art show, Chloe's art show and after they chat a bit she invites him to come. With his surgery due the next day Elliot decides to go since it will help get his mind off things, once there the two begin talking a bit more and seem to hit it off. The evening is full as they go bike riding and attend a few parties with friends of Chloe. What starts off as a growing friendship soon begins to develop into love between the two. As morning draws closer Elliot decides to tell Chloe about his surgery which she doesn't take very well at first but soon she becomes supportive and the two spend some very meaningful and loving time together. What I really liked about the film was that it kept a positive attitude even tough no one is sure of Elliot's future. The film deals more with the time the two young lovers spend together, even though it's a very short time it's time well spent. I also loved the cinematography and they way it placed me right there in the moment.Another reason I loved the film so much was it's cast, Parker Croft is simply amazing as Elliot, his performance makes you fell each and every emotion and it allows you to create a bond with him. Emilia Zoryan is also terrific as Chloe, this was her acting debut but you would never know it by watching her performance. Emilia is a very beautiful and talented young actress and I hope to see a lot more of her in the future. The rest of the cast also did a great job playing their roles as well."Falling Overnight" is a thoughtful love story told in a sensitive way. It handles the subject in a classy and loving way and it tells us that life is beautiful so live each day as if it's your last. A heart-felt film about finding love when you least expect it. An award winning film and for good reason, Director, Conrad Jackson shows great ability in telling a warm and realistic tale, this is a very impressive debut and I look forward to seeing what he and the amazing cast of actors all have coming next.Patrick Ricketts--videoviews.org
