There is a new evil, and you have no idea what's coming... When college roommates Mark and Tom go out for a night at the bar, the last thing they expected to find was a machete wielding stranger and a horde of the undead. With the help of amateur photographer and video store clerk Raven, the unlikely party fights their way into an epic conflict between the living... and the dead.

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE is another dreadful zombie flick made on an indie budget; it's one of the worst currently out there, although there are plenty of similarly terrible movies. It's a cheapest-of-the-cheap kind of film, in which college goofballs battle the barely-seen living dead. The film was shot in Michigan with the zombies a non-existent menace, and overall the bad scripting and complete predictability render it a bore.

The movie opens with a snuff scene that appears it could have come from Sin City. A man in handcuffs is set upon by a group of zombies, which we later find out were produced by the government, unless you read the comic book. Meanwhile Tom and Mark decide they want to go out for a drink, but like a trip to White Castle they get detoured. There is also Raven, "don't call me Jennifer" who is a punk-goth looking photographer. She joins the group. As fate would have it these 4 end up together. We find out the man in cuffs is some kind of government agent who was supposed to have been killed by the zombie attack. Mark has issues with his former roommate Kevin, who is sleeping with his gf, or ex-gf. Kevin looks like a young Val Kilmer. The movie has some real bad acting, like the bouncer at the bar who has "SECURITY" on his t-shirt. Fortunately the worse actors get eaten early. There seems to be a serious lack of guns for rural Michigan. There is one scene with some comical Dr. Evil diabolical laughter. The zombies are of the slow moving variety with a lousy make-up job.The DVD comes with a PREQUEL comic book. It would help if you read the comic book first. F-bomb, no sex, no nudity (unless you count the comic book which has topless drawings).

This movie cropped up alongside all the new releases in the shop. I like zombie films so thought i'd give it a try. The cover art looked good but unfortunately bares no resemblance to the film. The film is just awful from start to finish. no one can act and the zombies look like a 5 year old was hired to do the makeup. It may be low budget but that's not an excuse. If you have no money then you need to be clever with what you do have. Trying to make a zombie movie with no story, no actors and no effects just results in boring garbage. The whole things feels like a you-tube homage to zombie films made by some kids in a garage.

Sometimes it's nice to watch a movie that makes you think. Sometimes, a movie that's emotionally affecting is what you're after. Sometimes, you just want to amuse yourself. If the latter is what you want, then I'd most definitely recommend Zombie Apocalypse. Now, let's get one thing straight right off the bat; this movie doesn't attempt to break new ground. It's not about introducing a film-making revolution, nor does it attempt to take itself too seriously. It's the kind of movie one might watch while drunk (or otherwise inebriated) with friends. All the character archetypes are here: The Badass, The Goth Chick, The Hapless Nerd, The Comedic Relief, The Shadowy Government/Corporation figure... They're all here, and the roles are played surprisingly well, this film being made on the budget it was. Some have complained that this movie is horrible. I suspect these people were looking for something more than Ryan Thompson was offering.Long story short; if you want massive budgets, OTT special effects and a-list actors, look elsewhere. If you want a movie that is as funny as it is plain cool, then you may just enjoy this.
