Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

When you go into a film like "Motor Home Massacre", you expect to see either: 1) A surprisingly well crafted film that actually delivers some genuine suspense, even if it is low budget. (Extremely unlikely.) or 2) A movie that makes you burst out in peals of laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of it all. What we have here is a case of the second option. Basically, the story concerns a group of kids who are portrayed in the crudest possible stereotypes that you'd expect in a "dead teenager" film. They go camping, and have a fateful encounter with a machete wielding maniac. That's it, pretty much. The villain doesn't even use a chainsaw for the killings, which was odd, being that there's a bloody chainsaw on the cover of the DVD. One of those little things that makes you go "Hmmm..." The direction, atmosphere, and acting in this film ranks somewhere in between a softcore porn film you'd see on Cinemax at two in the morning, and a film class project made by high school students. That's not to say that there wasn't anything about "Motor Home Massacre" that I didn't enjoy. One memorable part involving a gas station cashier and the soon-to-be machete meat had me in stitches. "What kind of troubles?" "DEAD PEOPLE TROUBLES." Whoever wrote the script for this film was a mad genius.

Wow, that was one seriously unwatchable 20 minutes of movie (that's the most I could stomach then fast-forward scanned the rest). I got it cause of the amount of copies on the shelf, thought it might be worth checking out, and the title is catchy, but wow, did I say that already? I can't really find anything redeeming to say other than the title, obviously it was not professional actors used (not that I have anything against people learning to act, but it's a little deceptive to put it out on the shelves like that), looks like it could've been shot on my old VHS camcorder, effects were just bad, bad and badder. This will join the growing list of movies that I had to scan thru to make it to the end (which I will always at least do).

You have to be a real horror cult follower to have enjoyed this film, and luckily there are many of us out there. Cudos to Lionsgate for supporting decent indie horror films such as this one. These people who trash indie horror films that have a campy atmosphere about them are either filmmakers who couldn't make a selling film themselves, or Mainstream Hollywood film nerds who insist that everything that comes down the pike be of Hollywood quality. Thanks God the people who actually count for something and understand there is a market for these films are the ones distributing them and not the narrow minded few that live only to trash them. Read the box before you buy or rent it. You can pretty much tell from that if it is a B movie or not, and if it is just put it back on the shelf and don't bother with it. I'm sure there are those who rent these type films knowing what they are so they can purposely watch them and then trash them. Get a friggin life. If you don't like a film, then you don't like it. Oh well, you brought it on yourself for renting or buying it in the 1st place, so don't take your idiotic frustrations out on the filmmakers or distributors by bashing it on IMDb or other sites. Jeez if you can do better then do it, and maybe, someone else can trash your film. I am a strong supporter of indie films and as far as I am concerned they all should be given a big hand for getting made and distributed. Again, look at the box at the video store and if you think it looks like a B movie, and even an idiot can tell by looking, don't get it. Good job to the entire MHM team. You did it and no matter what anyone else says that is the bottom line. BOO to the bashers!

May contain spoilers- Lion's Gate has delivered yet another painful movie that is a total ripoff of something done a million times before.I am learning real fast Lion's Gate = CRAP! This movie sure does have it all- fake accents, more silicone than a hardware store, horrible acting, horrible script, looks like a home movie with the cheesy fade between, and even a bunch of old chicks (and guys) fooling themselves that they are acting and worse trying to portray an age range that they may have seen 10-20 years ago! It is totally unbelievable. It made me very sick to see this crap! One guy looked like he had spray on hair or something during the first travel scene where he is checking out stuff! The opening scene just ruined it all totally fake and way overdone. The coloring was way off on the blood and the whole thing just stunk! Many "ideas" can be seen where they have ripped it off from other films from the slasher 80's types.I am a HUGE fan of horror and enjoy many low budget. But save yourself some pain and avoid this one! It is horrible!! It truly is that bad. Save yourself time and money by avoiding this one!
