Sick Product of a Sick System
Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Even though it says it wasn't broadcast until 1970, I distinctly remember watching this in Ireland on TV. The station was using it as a "filler" while waiting for the astronauts to step out onto the moon. The movie had to be cut off short of the ending when they decided to come out of the lunar module. Had to wait a week until the station re-broadcast it in it's entirety. So it must have been given a release in Europe prior to it's American release, after sitting on the shelf for 3 years! I remember it was an enjoyable movie, I don't remember much of the plot but it was interesting to see James Drury in a different role, as we had only seen him in The Virginian up to that time. I would love to see it again. Maybe Timeless Media will find it and release it on DVD as they have several other Universal TV movies.
