Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

Or was it tree? Apart from word-plays and jokes that might or might not be funny, the movie has a lot of issues. One being its lead actor (some might argue that calling him that is a stretch, but think about Steven Seagal). There are not many emotions on display, especially if you try to find some on his face.On the other hand you have many of the downfalls of horror movies and the clichés involved. It may not be the most original story but it would have done the trick, if it were better executed and had a better script. I did mention the "acting" on display or the missing of it to be more exact. There are a few nice moments, but too few and far in between ...

Not as bad as I expected it to be based on the comments people have been leaving. Main boy was more annoying to me than the main girl, but I did end up liking both of their characters, or at least the progression of their characters. Overall, I found that the movie had both good and bad. Pros: excellent soundtrack, some chilling moments (and those were really great), unique ending. Cons: not really scary except for those few chilling moments, ridiculous antagonists (although I don't actually care about that much in regard to this film specifically, because I see the villains more as a device to show how the main boy changes as a character, not as actual frightening entities), several inaccuracies/plot holes. So it's really up to you to weigh this out and decide if it's worth it or not. I believe it's entertaining for one watch, but beyond that, I'm not so sure.

Here is a riddle for you, what is worse than a rubbish film? How about a film that is confusing rubbish? "Treehouse" starts reasonably well, and tries to build both atmosphere and suspense. At the end of the day though, the only thing it succeeds in breeding is confusion. A girl comes home to an empty house; we are led to believe her brother has been kidnapped. Small town America, there has apparently been a spate of such kidnappings, now the fair has been cancelled. We are led to believe that some thuggish teens may have something to do with this. Then our hero and his brother find the lost girl - by accident - in a treehouse out in the woods. There are numerous flashbacks and suggestions of supernatural influences. His brother leaves to get help and doesn't return. Maybe our hero and the girl are dead, and this is purgatory. They make their way to a deserted farmhouse, deserted but for the murdered occupant. Are the thugs or whatever they are responsible? You figure it out. In short, this film deserves all the rubbishing reviews it has received and then some: utterly confusing, utterly pointless, a waste of time, a waste, period.

A teenage boy discovers the perpetrators of several brutal kidnappings in his home town. This film was co-produced by Ed Sanchez (Blair Witch Project), which is just about the only name recognition it has. And even that is a bit of a stretch outside of serious horror fans.Dave Alexander says the film has "some realistic, likable characters to root for, genuinely frightening and savage antagonists, some brutally effective kills and constant tension". Despite this glowing praise, Alexander goes on to call the movie "stupid" due in part to how it resolves its problems.Without addressing the second part, one must concur with the first part. After twenty minutes or so of rather boring, pointless exposition, we get to the heart of the film. Very tense, very well shot, and a haunting score. This is not a great film, though it has so many great elements that it will be interesting to see what those involved do next -- and it is almost worth championing this film for that reason.
