I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

Johnny Strong (Black Hawk Down, Sinners and Saints) plays uberhero Rourke from New York who finds himself down in Texas in a post- apocalyptic zombie infested wild west. Roaming the desert highways in a big block V8 1970 Plymouth Road Runner - Mad Maxed out - Rourke rescues the damsel in distress (Texas Style of course) and joins a group of survivors. Zombie hunting ensues with epic gun action. Surprisingly engaging for a Sunday afternoon action flick.

Daylight's End directed by William Kaufman is a very fun horror action packed movie , it has all the thing a horror action need a likable lead role by Johnny Strong who i think need to be in more action movie and to mainstream audience.Seriously this guy is a perfect 90s action movie. The plot of this movie is simple apocalypse world when a creature part zombie part vampire running around eating people and a group of survival lead by the legendary Lance Henriksen. If you familiar with Kaufman movie you know it will contain good shoot out scene , bad ass one liner and a ridiculously high body count. For a low budget movie this is the best you can get

Solid horror/survival flick. The action is fast-paced but also balanced by eerie calm before the storm, the cinematography is well done and not over the top (no crazy camera jerking or 200fps shots where you can't see what's actually going on on the screen), the scenery is excellent 'cept a few minor kinks here and there and the music is very nice too.I guess the real minus would be the lack of character development, lack of backstory and no real sense of scarcity or lack of resources, judging by the fact they seem to have loads of ammo and fuel and somehow they manage to find pretty much brand new cars and a bus after 3 years of apocalypse. Costume design is kinda amateurish and doesn't fit the scenery since everything they wear is basically brand new without a scratch or tear (with obligatory black motorcycle shades). There's also this gang of marauders slapped onto the story as if they felt zombie-vampires were not enough to hold the suspense, which I find unnecessary and it kinda spoils the narrative. However I like the fact that characters themselves are hardened by and fully aware of the gravity of the situation, there are no sob stories or soap opera romances and everyone pretty much knows it's about survival first and everything else later, so they stick together and do their part. Acting is decent, cast is amazing (but I might be biased since Lance Henriksen and Hakeem Kae-Kazim are in my eyes great in every movie; there are also a few to me new appearances which I found enjoyable) and overall the feel of the movie is pretty dreadful which is exactly how you want to feel when watching a post-apocalyptic survival movie.I have a feeling there are great movies yet to come from William Kaufman, especially if he gets a solid budget to work with.Overall score: 6.5/10 (pretty damn good for today's standards, definitely worth the watch for apocalypse fans)P.S. I don't feel I can give it 7/10 so unfortunately I have to go with 6 since the scoring system is kinda unforgiving.

Not bad. These are kinda bland words to use for such an action filled shoot-em-up. It had me swinging back and forth between "COOOL" and "Mmmmh Ohhkaay". Liked: action sequences, plot velocity, actors.Didn't like: coincidences and confluence of events that drove the plot. Henriksen was wasted. I always see him as the android from Alien but he has pulled off many other roles that I have enjoyed. He just didn't seem to do a lot here - and then got killed.Didn't understand how the Alpha just seemed to turn up after Rourke has stumbled over Sam who just happened to invite him back to her refuge. The Alpha just happened to be at the Police Station as they turned up at nightfall? Maybe I missed something that explained this but it didn't ruin the whole movie, seemed weird.Insane, running, hyper-violent and very agile infected who are ultra allergic to sunlight. OK I'm down with the continuing mix and match that this genre encourages and sometimes pulls off. I was fascinated by the 28 days running zombies so I am not in the "they can't run!" camp.Definitely felt the whole Snake Plissken thing that Strong was channelling. Even the ending was OK. I would have accepted him falling for the chick in a cliché moment of romance or lust - but it wouldn't have been in keeping with his 'strong and silent' type performance up to this moment.Worth a look. Adds fuel to the fire.
