Killers (2010)

I love this movie so much

Absolutely Fantastic

Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Long retired, a former CIA assassin begins to suspect that his overly cheerful and pleasant neighbours are sleeper agents intent on killing him in this energetic comedy from 'Legally Blonde' director Robert Luketic. This imaginative premise leads to several great action scenes as well as a wacky satirical take on white picket fence suburbia with the protagonist finding himself in a community that really is too friendly to be true. Ashton Kutcher 'won' a Razzie for his lead performance and he has never been much of a compelling actor, however, the biggest issue here is that around half the film elapses before the plot truly ignites. Katherine Heigl has some good moments as the innocent naïve girl who Kutcher ends up leaving his assassin career for and marrying, however, too much time is spent on their budding romance and subsequent marital tension before the sleeper agent angle takes off. Never to mind, once the film gets into the swing of things, it rarely lets up and the final hour is enormously entertaining with a supporting cast including 'Big Bang Theory' actor Kevin Sussman showing just how uncanny they can be. Tom Selleck also provides a strong turn as Heigl's stern no-nonsense father and he has a significantly larger role than one might expect. Is debatable whether the film's final twist involving him stands up to close scrutiny, but he offers a memorable performance either way, having to also balance the comedy of Catherine O'Hara, cast as his wife. In short, this is a far better film than one may expect even if the potential for more is striking.

(11%) It may be said that all movies are products, particularly the bigger budget mainstream ones, well this is certainly the case here. The cynical producers of this masterpiece must have assumed that it would be money in the bank to aim their movie at both men and women, with the romantic comedy parts for the girls and the action parts for the guys resulting in both halves of the date going home happy. The main problem is that it's really not funny, with large barren sections of script void of any comedy, not even poor gags or broad humour, just nothing. The action is as by-the- numbers as humanly possible and some of the support characters wouldn't be out of place in a failed TV sit-com. As for the movies alcoholism themed running gag with Catherine O'Hara's character, what the hell were they thinking?

Movie has great idea etc... but total ruin for this movie is awful acting performance by Ashton Kutcher. He usually has funny Comedy movies and they are just fine, but this one... horrible, completely ruins the whole movie. Probably that's what Katherine wasn't relaxed either so her acting was on edge to be awful, but still better performed than Ashton.We don't know of course was such acting asked from them by the Director or whoever, but this is not how movies should be played out.So this is definitely NOT recommended movie to watch, you just feel from the start that something is wrong and it keeps on going and going... and you don't see any progress whatsoever...

Back at home, however, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbors could be assassins who have been contracted to kill the couple.Have you ever been so bored, you force yourself to see something you really have no interest to see? In the meantime, you realize what your watching and suddenly came to the horrible truth, this is a really bad film and nothing could save it. Your entertained easily, and the stupidity is transformed into cinematic genius. But after the film, you wake up from your happy-go-lucky dream and realize the real truth, that was one of the worst movies you've ever seen. 1/10.
