All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

I believe this was a bit of a remake of the original Kickboxer which I like. More so after seeing this. Characters didn't convince me at all. There was martial arts talent but it just wasn't that competently filmed. Van Damme actually acted much worse than before in the -90s and his accent was also worse. The plot was mostly simple but I believe there was an attempt to make some weird sub-plot which never really played out.Length was good and the movie didn't seem too boring to sit through but still I can't really recommend this.

When you think that nothing else would surprise you, you watch Kickboxer: Vengeance and starts to review all your worst reviews. From animals clearly made of plastic, terrible "epileptic" camera on action scenes to direction worthy of zero stars, the movie is a complete tragedy. The original Kickboxer deserves 7-9 stars when compared to this reboot.

What should have been an enjoyable B grade action fest, "Kickboxer: Vengeance" instead is a lazy, insulting, rushed, and blatant cash grab totally missing out on what made the original film a cult classic and loved by so many people, it's a laughably bad attempt at rebooting a film that should have been a cakewalk, at least as far as direct to video remakes go. So you're probably asking how JCVD is in the film, he is to most people the only reason to watch the film after all, well, he's...there, he's just there, not giving a crap, in fact no one gave a crap when making this film, I mean I don't blame them, it's a direct to video remake of an 80's B movie, but was it really THAT hard to do it well? Not even the team handed the task of putting subtitles in the film could do their job, who in the hell thought it was the best decision to make the subtitles of the film in all caps? What's most laughable is the dubbing job they did with JCVD...yes, they dubbed JCVD with another person's voice, it's so hard to not notice it, as I said it's laughable. Even if you're a fan of the original, definitely don't waste your time with this film, it's not even better than the sequels.

I sat down and watched this whole film and the only reason why I did is for Van Damme. Why does the movie industry insist on remakes. I guess for a quick buck and I guess they can film a movie on a camera mummy bought them for xmas. Was the original kickboxer movie cheesy... Yes of course but it offered originality. Im surprised I sat through the whole movie to be honest. And I see they are planning on making another one in 2017, OMG why f**king bother. All these young actors coming through to be the next van damme or Arnold etc. my word for you is to be original, if you just do remakes or try to be like Van Damme or Arnold you will get no where and be a nothing actor! So basically the plot of the movie is like the original but it seemed a lot longer and that was due to the long training montage that just kept going. So Eric gets killed in a fight with tong po happens in the first 15mins, the next 50mins is of Erics brother training to fight Tong Po with no other interesting fill in parts except for the sex scene which I guess keeps the young kids interested. and then he is finally ready to fight tong po to the death and wins of course (to the death).Acting was terrible and all I could think about is how much steroids was used to prepare for this film. it feels like action fighting movies are dead not what they once were!
