In the late '60s, the self-proclaimed belles of the rock 'n' roll ball, rocked the worlds of every music legend whose pants they could take off -- and they have the pictures to prove it. But it's been more than two decades since the Banger Sisters earned their nickname -- or even laid eyes on each other. Their reunion is the collision of two women's worlds; one who's living in the past, and one who's hiding from it. Together they learn to live in the moment.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

I think there's a scene where the Banger Sisters look at photographs of the genitals of the rock stars they slept with during their groupie years, why did you do that? This movie makes me think, " what else is on." O.K fine, I'm sorry Banger Sisters, I shouldn't make fun of this pointless predictable by-the-numbers age appropriate bore for dying baby- boomers. You want to know what the story is? Story is sucks. You want to know how the acting is? Yeah, is sucks, is all sucks. I make puking noises "hack-bleh-bleck-halluck-hallule" my vomit covers me in hot mess and shame, like the Banger Sisters. Do you own a hammer? Want to know what might be fun? Find yourself a copy of the Banger Sisters and smash it to a heap of crap, just smash it till your arm goes numb from repeated impact and your shoulder explodes with pain, tears streak your raging face crying out, " Now I bang you! Now I bang you! " and darkness swells in the gathering twilight.

Two stars for Geoffrey Rush (as Harry Plumber) and a star for Eva Martino (as Ginger). Otherwise, what pointless waste of time this movie was.Let's start with Goldie Hahn as Suzette. For a woman who has been living hard for over 20 years, she looks unbelievably good. No woman who has been chain smoking, heavily drinking, and partying into her late forties is going to retain the obvious sex appeal that Goldie Hahn has.Yet somehow, not only has Suzette's lifestyle not put a line on her face, it has also imbued her with all manner of wisdom and authenticity. So, no - Suzette is not a sad excuse for an adult with barely the resources to keep mind and body together - she's enlightened. I'm sure this will be a huge comfort to all the broke, middle-aged, chain-smoking, alcoholic women out there.Susan Sarandon's character, Vinni, is the stereotypical repressed, uptight, suburban housewife. Her family doesn't know the "real her" until throws a chicken breast at her husband during a family dinner, very briefly shares some common knowledge about Jim Morrison with her daughters, borrows some of Suzette's garish clothes, gives herself a bad haircut, goes to a club with Suzette to dance, and is caught by her husband and older daughter looking at Polaroids of penises from her glory days. Now, that we've plumbed the shallow depths of Vinni, we can sit through a painfully corny graduation speech given by her over-achieving older daughter. She actually says "live true" about three times as if hearing it once wasn't enough for the audience's popcorn to come back up.One glimmer of entertainment came from Geoffrey Rush's character, Harry Plummer, as a miserable, uptight, sexually repressed, OCD man who returns to Phoenix, AZ as a failed writer. He deserved more film time. The other glimmer was from Eva Martino as Ginger - Vinni's spoiled, underachieving, screw-up of a daughter.BOTTOM LINE: If you're into 'chick flicks' that have virtually nothing to do with how actual women relate to each other OR if you're into how much better it is to be a "free spirit" (aka broke with no prospects) OR if you're option is a kick in the head or watching this movie ... then go ahead and watch it.

This is a terrible, horrible movie, unless one agrees with its basic premise that sluts are cool, even at 50. Goldie and Sarandon play a couple 50 year-olds who in their youth were rock-groupies. We enter the story when they are middle-aged,Goldie is till going on as she was at 20,and Sarandon changed to a(fake)conservative woman, who brings up a family. The key word here is FAKE,because Satrandon is NOT presented as a normal 50 year-old who just grew-up but as a woman who secretly longs for her wild youth. The script written by probably some woman who never had sex and strongly regrets her ways,is a glorification of the life of a slut, not only at youth but even at middle-age.Goldies character is presented as a"cool" person, and the actress,in a horrible performance just walks around with the attitude of a rock-star,understandably because she once slept with some of them. The movie is of course laughable but because its not presented as a satire but even has a moral message!!!!,i have to say it is nauseating.Unless you think that the message,is OK,and that middle-aged women should teach their daughters that they should be sluts and whores and its OK,as long as they don't try to hide it,which that and only that is the ultimate sin. Maybe the worse movie i have ever seen.Unfortunately i cant rate it lower than 1,there is no 0 in IMDb rating.

In Los Angeles, when the bartender Suzette (Goldie Hawn) is fired from the club where she works, she decides to travel to Phoenix and visit her friend and also former groupie of twenty years ago Vinnie (Susan Sarandon) to borrow some money. While on the road, she runs out of gas and without any money, she accepts to bring the stressed loser writer Harry Plummer (Geoffrey Rush) and in return he would pay for the gasoline. When she meets her old friend, now Mrs. Lavinia Kingsley, she finds a very conservative and traditional housewife, married with the successful lawyer Raymond Kingsley (Robin Thomas) and mother of two complicated teenagers, Hanna and Ginger. Their interaction along a few days improves their lives."The Banger Sisters" has a good premise, that some people never change while others repress their feelings, but it is badly executed. The idea of how people change their behavior when raise a family could be deeply developed based on the past of the two "banger sisters", but the way the forgotten and unknown past of Vinnie is disclosed to her family is absolute shallow and without any purpose. I believe Bob Dolman was lazy or afraid to shift to a profound drama, and preferred the easiest and most superficial way to make the confrontation between two exaggerated sides: the one who lives in the past and the other that does not use her experience to improve her relationship with her daughters and husband. My vote is six.Title (Brazil): "Doidas Demais" ("Too Crazies")
