The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

It is worse than HELL to watch this "movie". The worst way to spend 99 minutes of your life. If you ever plan on watching this "movie", do yourself a favor. Break the DVD in half and use the the pieces to slit your wrists. Hey C.I.A., forget waterboarding. Just show this to receive all the information and more, in no time.Papa Bless. This is without a doubt the worst film I've ever had the displeasure of watching, and I have to admit that I have no idea what possessed me to do so. The only retroactively funny (more like pathetic) thing about this "comedy" is how Sandler's lame character Schecky complains about the dropping standards of comedy being reduced to fart jokes, fat people jokes, jokes at the expense of women; standards he himself picks up in the story. The irony is that not only is it the routine that Schecky himself picks up as a comic within this "film", but also exactly what Sandler's routine has turned into in real life and in the rest of his meritless filmography. The overuse of the same jokes with no payoffs and its eerie similarities to the other films in Sandler's career (despite him not being a producer/director on this) is just a testament to his consistent mediocrity. He has not progressed as an actor or comedian in any way since this disaster, and anything that he's in that happens to be good is because of the director or its premise (Punch Drunk Love for example makes a mockery/parody of Sandler's personality in a satirical way that totally works). How Sandler's career picked up after this is a total mystery. The guy is talentless. Utterly and pathetically talentless.

Yes folks, this is one of those movies! Its soooooo bad, but so good. This movie just stinks. It may actually be worse than The Room. The only way this can be viewed is with friends. There is no way you can watch it on your own (please don't try, you'll thank me). The acting is bad, the production is bad, the 4th wall breaks are bad, and the jokes are bad. But all that just adds to its hilarity. I watched it with some buddies and we didn't stop laughing and quoting it for ages. Highly recommended. Surprisingly there are also lost of cameos from some solid actors/directors which makes this movie all the more baffling. 10/10 would watch again... With friends...

I don't know what people are talking about. I don't see how this movie could get a 1.8 rating. I don't see how this Adam Sandler movie could be lower rated than Jack and Jill. Yes this movie can slow at times but some moments are really funny.Adam Sandler plays a struggling comedian who takes a lowly job on a cruise ship in hopes eventually he could be a big cruise ship comedian. You have Scott LaRose who plays Dickie Diamond the cruise ship comedian. Dickie Diamond is someone who uses the F-Word a lot. You wouldn't think he is the cruise ship comedian but he is. He ends up eventually getting locked up in a bathroom. The people on the cruise ship think he must have died and have a funeral for him. It was one of my favorite parts of the movie. There are some parts of this movie that are really funny. I don't understand why this movie gets such a low rating. There are plenty of other worse Adam Sandler movies.
