Big fan of Neeraj Pandey . I like whatever he has made. A Wednesday set a new milestone in thriller genre, while Special 26 set a new trend of no nonsense con films and Baby was a milestone in realistic cinema on terrorism. This time he tried to remake his earliest masterpiece. You know what I am saying. Two men with different views went against each other , while one believes in the political system the other is against it. The same story which made A Wednesday a hit made Aiyaary a dud. Because the 'common man' factor is missing. Neeraj Pandey's strength is to make movies with characters that connects well with us . But Aiyaary misses the point.Another Important aspect of Neeraj Pandey films is acting. We have seen brilliant acing from Anupam and Naseer in A Wednesday , Almost everyone in Special 26(Akshay got more attention because he was not expected to do that kind of role) , Again everyone in Baby and Sushant Singh Rajput in M.S Dhoni. But this time , Siddharth Malhotra changed the trend . Although he has shown a little bit improvement , little variation in his expression but still annoys. If he work with Neeraj Pandey in 50 more films , he will surely become a good actor(But 50 atleast). The films tries to be over the top at times . At almost 1 hour , we don't have any idea about what is going on . It is so confusing . Every character underplayed his/her role . It's not a Neeraj Pandey film at all.

So you been reading this only coz you are wondering why a Neeraj pandey Film have so low ratings.. You are right.. This film actually is an intelligent spy drama (more like drama than action) which hooks you to your seats from that very first India Gate scene and don't give you an inch to move.. A gem of a movie and is way better then Special 26 or Baby (of NPandey) (or the overrated Rustom which had similar story backdrop or Airlift) ( even better spy thriller than recent Raazi which i saw in theater) in terms of Smart thriller, but doesn't have adrenaline rush of Wednesday....All the Characters perfectly played like any other NP films, The Cinematography is Top-Notch, Back-ground score is good enough, some quirky dialogues, no songs (thank god), and very crisp attention to details. the movie is on par with any international spy drama and exceeds above any Indian movie limitation. The climax is real winner as the film approaching breathlessly to its end.. Smart, Intelligent, well written, tight screenplay and Superb acting makes this film a must watch.. just watched on Netflix and i guess the ratings are going to change in few days.. don't know who the people rated this below 5 star.. "Kaun hai ye log, Kahan se aatey hai ye log!".

The story takes a winding and criss-cross path, which is what appealed to me the most. There is not much action, this movie is more of a thriller and suspense. To be honest, I didn't expect many turns or "decisions" taken by the characters and also that it is rather realistic and grounded apart from the cinematic freedom ofc. You know the lead character is not gonna go bad, but the subtle acting and seriousness of Siddharth goes unnoticed by many. Manoj sir was fabulous as always, maybe more in-character and subtle than Wasseypur. The editing could have been better and a few big-time action sequences could have made it more appealing to people who can't watch movies with subtle and endearing details. For many reasons it reminded me of Blood Diamond except the protagonist doesn't die.
