A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

First off the title "Blood Night" is one of the most generic titles I've ever heard for a movie. The dialogue is wretched. The plot ridiculous and full of holes. Even the actors, who play high school kids and range in age from 25-34, point out foibles at one point. I rented this from the local DVD vending machine because of Danielle Harris and Bill Moseley, and they could not save this film. Nor could the gratuitous sex scenes that went on and on. Almost for an uncomfortable amount of time. I figured out 10 mins in that Harris's character was playing Molly er Mary Hatchets daughter. My girlfriend who usually is terrified of horror movies didn't jump once. The special fx were kinda cool, but thats about it. Very bloody and a lot of gore. I couldn't figure out why Harris's character didn't clean up her period mess. That was pretty gross. Anyways it's a bad film with very few redeeming qualities. Don't waste your money. Not even a dollar.

Some Spoilers. But not enough to ruin the twist of the film. I am a Die Hard slasher fan and a Die hard Danielle Harris fan. So when I caught news of this film I was Psyched! Having Bill Moseley(Texas Chainsaw massacre 2, 1986) in the line up isn't bad either. So right off the bat it is easy to tell the director had is own thoughts on the slasher genre! What were they? Well to make a different but yet Cliché one. He decided to stick with with the drunkin' teens with no adult authority, but he decided to use different camera angles! This is Noticeable within the first ten minutes of the film. *Review* So the film starts off with the Legend of Mary Hatchet. This takes up the first 11 or 12 minutes of the film. Then we meet the group of teenagers. Right off the bat we also get to know the character types. Which if I may say so myself its the type I hate to love. You know? The jocks and Slutty girls. The ones your really hoping to die and when they do you get excited. They decided to go to Mary Hatchets grave with a weegie board! They summon Mary Hatchet(Or do they?). Then they decide to leave to have a party. . . . I really like the twist of this film. If your a fan of Slashers this is one to see!

"It's time to wake the dead." On the anniversary of the death of axe murder Mary Hatchet a group of teens head to the graveyard to "wake the dead" before a night of drinking and horror movies. While at the house they begin to wonder if the prank was a prank at all. There is really not much to say about this one. Group of kids do something they think is a joke, drinking, sex and death occur. This is a movie type that has been done to death and is starting to wear out I think. Acting is not the best, but most of the actors are in the movie because of their looks anyway. Very gory and bloody, but not any worse then other movies like this. If you like the typical "Friday The 13th" slasher movies then this is for you. Overall nothing too exciting, you can only watch so many movies like this before it becomes repetitive. I have seen much worse though. I give it a B-.Would I watch again? - I don't think I will, I'm sure another movie like this will be releases in a month.*Also try - Mask Maker & Urban Legends : Bloody Mary

While watching BLOOD NIGHT I couldn't help but role my eyes around when hearing some of the dialog and witnessing the stupidity of the characters who seem to lack the ability to use common sense, not to mention that none of them are particularly likable.the plot itself is probably one of the most unimaginative I've seen in a long time, its so unimaginative that even the clichés have clichés and it really has some stupid moments.1. Before the killer starts slashing everyone every spooky moment in this film from a door slamming shut to a window breaking even to a door that gets knocked completely out its hinges gets blamed on the wind, despite the fact that you can tell that there is no wind inside or outside the house everything gets blamed on the wind that's not even there, unless the actual wind is really being caused by someone farting in the house.2. The gore effects in this film are terrible, to be more specific, all the blood and guts are pink, I'm talking strawberry flavored milkshake pink so the other shock is that other reviewers actually like this, I honestly don't see any real die hard slasher fan approving of this mess of a movie with such terrible gore that looks like strawberry flavored milkshake.Overall, do not pass go, do not pay to see this movie and save your 90 minutes for something way better.
