The Ident Review Season 6

BBC ONE has launched its CHRISTMAS IDENTS for 2023! The Beeb has a long standing track record for producing some of the best festive sequences ever seen in the history of television! With this years batch featuring a mix of both old and new, will it pay off and be another winner? Find out on our Christmassy episode of THE IDENT REVIEW!

we're waving goodbye to PICK and ushering in the new era of SKY MIX! But will it's new idents live up to the channel's legacy? Or will it be a continuation of a disappointing trend we've seen in sequences recently, where little effort is shown at all?

we'll be switching over to CHANNEL 4 to take a look at the 25 new sequences that have appeared as part of the channel's 2023 rebrand! Lots to look at, lots to get through, all packed with great variety and intrigue! Let's get going!

we're switching over to BBC2! The presentation from 1991 onwards often gets a lot of attention, but what about the early years? So today, we're going from BBC2's launch in 1964, all the way up until that fateful rebrand in 1991! We've got a lot of interesting idents to look at, so let's get right into it!

we have a brand new channel to spotlight! Being an amalgamation of BBC BRIT and BBC EARTH, audiences throughout Scandinavia will now be treated to BBC NORDIC! We go through the sequences that have appeared on the new service thus far, and whether or not they are any good, or represent the BBC brand as a whole!

we've got a very special deep dive to go through! In 2006, BBC One waved goodbye to the Rhythm & Movement idents to make way for the CIRLCES! For the next 10 years, these spherical sequences would capture the hearts and minds of millions of UK viewers! So we're going to go through EVERY SINGLE ONE (almost) as they head into the spotlight.

we'll be taking a look at CITV! Just after its 40th anniversary, it was announced that the channel would be closing down in the autumn on 2023... but before it does, we're going to turn the clock back to 2009 and look at a selection of idents that aim to show the uniqueness and the fun, that CITV had to offer!

we're turning the clock back to 2012, to the launch of the latest offshoot in the CHANNEL 4 family, 4SEVEN! This channel aims to show the best that the C4 network has to offer, but how do its idents stack up? We'll be taking a look at those that appeared at launch, and some of the follow ups!

we're heading on over to CHANNEL 5 to take a look at the variety of SPECIAL IDENTS that they've showcased from 2020, all the way up until the present day here in 2023! But do these benefit the current C5 branding? Or are they a bit lazy, and a waste of time?

we look at the NEW children's channel from one of the biggest juggernauts in satellite and digital television, Sky! Launching in February 2023, we examine all of the idents put out so far by the latest newcomer to the children's content scene, it's SKY KIDS!

we look at the NEW 2023 revamp for the BBC's leading children's channels! That being CBBC and CBEEBIES! These channels are held in the hearts of several generations of viewers, so how do the new presentation for them work out?
