Animal prosthetics expert Derrick Campana travels across the country to help animals with limited mobility. Through his organization Bionic Pets, Derrick builds custom artificial limbs for dogs, goats, cows, and horses (and even elephants!) so they may overcome injury, deformity, or amputation. But it’s not just the loveable critters that are changed forever—the families of the pets also find hope and healing through Derrick’s kindness and generosity. It’s feel-good TV at its finest!

Derrick travels to a sanctuary farm hidden amongst the bright lights of Las Vegas to help a young alpaca born with front limb deformities; as Debbie continues to grow, the weight of her body will cause her legs to collapse until she can't walk.

Episode 3 - Colby

Derrick travels to Long Beach, California to help the Wackerman-Nulty family and their new puppy, Colby. Chad and Kate have recently merged their two families and Colby is the glue that sticks them all together. Colby is a fast growing puppy with a rare front limb deformity called ectrodactyly, which means that he has all the bones in his paw but they are in the wrong places. Colby is showing signs of extreme fatigue from his deformity and can barely get out of the house to go for a walk. Derrick will try to make Colby a custom prosthetic to help alleviate the family’s concerns.

Episode 2 - Teo

A familiar face joins Derrick to help with the increased workload at Bionic Pets HQ, where a cavalier king charles spaniel is fit with a custom helmet. Derrick then travels to San Diego, California to help a bouncy puppy named Teo, who is a double amputee. Teo’s parents, Milton and Vanessa, were frontline workers during the Covid crisis, and adopting this energetic puppy during the pandemic was a light that guided them through dark times. But, Teo’s joyful determination to get around puts him at risk of further injury. Derrick has to come up with a brand new cart design that gives Teo the freedom he deserves and allows Milton and Vannessa to take him on trips to the Southern California beach.

Episode 1 - Boots

Derrick and his sidekick, Henry, travel to Mooresville, North Carolina to build a custom cart for Boots, an 11-month-old corgi who was born with front limb deformities. The Russell family have a special place in their hearts for special needs dogs. Boots’ sister Buttercup, is a 6-year-old corgi who lost her mobility three years ago, and has been using a cart ever since. Buttercup’s favorite thing in life is to chase a ball and Boots has never had the chance to join in. Derrick and the Russell family are eager to see if Boots will accept the cart and race alongside his sister.
