An American radio–television anthology series, created in 1947 by Canadian director Fletcher Markle, who came to CBS from the CBC. Studio One, presented by Westinghouse, was one of the first of the anthology TV programs. The episodes were often abridged remakes of movies from years gone by and many future well-known television and movie actors appeared in the productions.

Yermo Red is a sadistic cop employed by a western railroad who delights in beating up hobos and finally kills one. The hobos want to avenge the dead man by killing Yermo. But one of them who hates violence prevails on them to try something else. He composes a song, "The Ballad of Yermo Red", which everybody up and down the railroad line begins singing.

Now the widow is nothing to look at, and some folks say she's a bull-headed old battle-axe, but she has an estimated fortune of $900, and that's a lot of money in the Wyoming of 1880!

While a man lies unconscious on the operating table, he dreams that he has recovered and gone on a sea voyage to regain his health. However, death follows him in a recurrent dream in which he takes a journey through the heavens. The dream obsesses him, but Clarice, a pretty woman with whom he falls in love, forces him back to reality, at which point, he regains consciousness to find Clarice, his nurse, bending over him to say he is all right.
