Rajapattai (2011)
Murugan is a stunt actor in movies and his only aim in life is to become a good villain and get featured prominently in movie posters and cutouts. At a temple festival, he rescues Dakshinamoorthy from goons trying to kidnap him on orders from his son, who wants to take over land on which an orphanage is located. Murugan takes Dakshina to his mansion to keep him safe. Soon, thugs arrive in search of Dakshina as the land was promised to politician Ranganayaki alias Akka in return for an MLA seat to his son. It is now up to Murugan to foil their plan.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
"Rajapattai"- a lots of expectation were on the movie especially on its director Suseendran who has given 3 successful & critically acclaimed movies so far. Also this movie showcases Vikram in pucca-masala movie action hero role after a long time. But the end result is poor & boring.Though the movie is short (just about 2 hours) one can't but feel the discomfort watching this movie as it is tiring to spend even that 2 hours. One wonders what has happened to that promising & talented youngster who came on to the scene as a whiff of fresh air with his "Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu". And to think of Vikram , the most unluckiest of stars in Tamil Cinema , one just has to feel for the man.Vikram has tried his best to give his 100 % & he looks dashing and brawny . But his acting in this movie is bad for he tries to imitate KamalHassan of "Vasool Raja". In certain sequences he acts plain ridiculous & makes one wonder what was he thinking while doing so. Deeksha Seth is yet another beauty queen who has nothing to do but to stand like a set property & cat-walk in the song sequences.K.Vishwanath has a meaty role after a long time & shows his vast experience in enacting it well. Sana as the main antagonist has done her part well. Pradeep Rawat has a minor role as does Avinash. Reema Sen , Shriya & Saloni have item numbers to perform.Songs & background score of Yuvan Shankar Raja are below average.Mathi's cinematography is good & adds gloss to the movie.On the whole , "Rajapattai" is movie which none seem to have shown any interest in making it in the first place which shows on screen.Bottomline : Bore
I never expected such a lame movie from Vikram or Suseenthiran. After a masterpiece like deivathirumagal this is a negative step for vikram. And for Suseenthiran this makes him one of the few directors who are beginning to waste their talent after a couple of good films. The music is also not impressive and a shocking disappointment from someone like Yuvan Shankar Raja.The movie starts with vikram's ambition to become a great villain in the cinemas. And the story shifts to land mafia. An old man is taken care of vikram n he protects him from his son who is behind the property. The old man in fact is the only saving grace of the movie. he helps Vikram get his heroine and the heroine's part is just to mumble few words and dance. As the story (if any) goes on, the son cheats his dad and gets the property and the son is again cheated by the land mafia people. The rest of the story is about how vikram saves the lands from the mafia people.In short its one of the lamest movies ever made in Tamil. The best part of the movie is the last item song with shreya and reema sen. But the audience are so bored that they may actually not have the patience to watch the song. So u can avoid this movie. If u have a very free weekend and some extra bucks then u can waste it on this movie.
