This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Luke Perry continues his characterization of circuit territorial judge John Goodnight in Queen of Hearts. He faces some different issues in this film mainly because it's not his brain he's thinking with. Our fast shooting judge finds Katharine Isabelle with a dead Pinkerton detective and she may or may not have been his prisoner. What is certain is that Rick Schroder is on the prowl for her, for reasons having to do with a little payback. She apparently took him with her poker playing skills in the pocketbook because Schroder was guilty of exactly thinking with what Perry is.The character of John Goodnight is an interesting one and I wish I had seen the first two films to compare with. This film leaves the story quite nebulous and up in there, maybe deliberately so as to what Ms. Isabelle's fate will be. It all depends on what Perry is thinking with at that moment.Oh well, at least this shows judges are human beings.

"Sometimes I wish I wasn't a judge." The next chapter in the saga of wild west judge John Goodnight (Perry). While out riding John sees a stagecoach under attack and kills the attackers. The survivor is a woman who John strikes up a quick friendship with. Little by little he finds out more about her, and she may not be who he thought. I have seen all three movies in this series. The first one was actually not that bad, but the others went downhill fast. I can't really complain to much because they are hallmark channel TV movies so there is a certain expectation with that. The movie is sometimes entertaining and sometimes very boring. If it was more consistent it would have been better but just when you get into it it slows way down and makes you lose interest. If you have seen the others then you might as well watch this one too, otherwise its really a movie for hardcore western fans only. Overall, the third movie in the series and the third best one. I give it a C.
