Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
I actually saw this movie a couple years ago on cable late one night. I found this to actually be a somewhat suspenseful who-done-it mystery. Not a bad movie at all. Much better than the late night garbage cable channels usually play. A half way decent murder mystery. Just when you think you know who did it someonebody else pops up. A very decent low-budget movie.
Standard serial killer plot, and Shelley Hack gives her usual anemic performance, but if you like menacingly sexy bad guys, Arnold Vosloo is reason enough to rent this one. :) Plus, the plot does a decent job of keeping you wondering "Is he, or isn't he, the killer?"
