This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
I am a big fan of Take That (Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange - Robbie Williams might come back one day, you never know), and I really liked An Audience with..., so here's another similar show. They again perform some old classics, and along the way answer fan questions and other stuff. Songs of the evening included "Greatest Day" (their latest number one), "Shine", "Back For Good", "Patience", "Never Forget", new track "Julie", and a couple of their other new tracks. The show included a special guest appearance by Geraldine McQueen (Peter Kay), winner of the (spoof) reality show Britain's Got The Pop Factor... to ask them questions to see how much they know about each other. Good!
