The show features some great light and sound effects apart from the great music that Eagles is renowned for. The 'five-part' harmony song, "Hole in the World" elicits a great crowd participation with the audience providing a 'clap rhythm' as the band sings. The song "Life's Been Good" features some antics by Joe Walsh and Frey with them staging a mock rivalry on stage and the latter having a hearty laugh at the former. The song also features a 'helmet cam' session where the crowd gets to see what the camera on Walsh's helmet points at. Also, the songs "The Boys of Summer" and "Hotel California" feature the first officially documented use by the Eagles of a drum machine in a live performance; in particular, during "Hotel California", a pre-programmed track is used to simulate the muted guitar strums which provide a steady beat on the original studio recording of the song, and which are absent from all of the previous live performances of it.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

I am an Eagles fan, but not an Eagles fanatic. I grew up listening to them and enjoy all aspects of their music: vocals, the way they harmonize, lyrics, and in the Ealges Farewell I Tour DVD, their showmanship. They performed a few new songs but most of it is a repeat from their "Hell Freezes Over" DVD, minus their most excellent lead guitarist Don Felder. That was my main disappointment with this DVD. The video on standard DVD and the sound was great. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and I would recommend it to a friend. However, if I had to pick only one, the Hell Freezes Over DVD would be my preference.

Guys this DVD is the concert as I saw it in Melbourne. Seen many DVD's and Concerts. Nothing even comes close to this concert. I actually saw KISS in concert at VFL Park in Melbournes outer suburbs in 1980. That KISS Concert was Awesome But the EAGLES FAREWELL 1 was better, and this DVD is that Concert. Buy it you wont regret it. Mate Cant Wait For The Farewell 2 Tour:-) I did not know I was an Eagles Fan. Through work a guy rang me and asked if I wanted Tickets to the Eagles concert that night. "Yeah I'LL have 4" He Says "Mate this is the Eagles. How Many" Stupid Me " Four will do Mate" He says "OKAY THEN!!!!!! pick em up at the box office" We get there and we are 20 Rows, in front, from the stage and here are these 4 dudes singing songs I knew by heart. almost 3hrs and not a bad note or key. Freekin AWESOME

superb vocals, great instrumentation! definite A PLUS MATERIAL! the eagles have been, will be, and are the best there is, was, or ever will be! one thing i noticed and will address is that there's a discrepancy between the audio and video on "Walk Away" and will explain the best i can what may have happened....this show was recorded over a period of nights and they must have taken the best audio and paired it with the best video..so every once in a while you'll see something happen but won't hear it or will hear something but won't see it happen. because audio and video are recorded separately for these live projects this is most likely what happened.

This a must have music for all music lovers! I do not have enough superlative compliments to describe it. Buy it, See it, Hear it and you will cherish it. I have many of their CDs and DVDs, this DVD enriches them. The Eagles put much attentions in making their CDs and DVDs. Their aim for perfection produces great DVDs. The perfect record mixing shows their musical talents (both instrumental and vocal) and rich vocal harmonies. I am glad to have it after having the Hell Freezes Over. It have new materials and new musicians in the "orchestra". You will certainly appreciate it greatly! As with the "Hell Freezes Over", this DVD provides many audio output selections. To fully appreciate it you will need large screen and more importantly high quality speakers (or headphone).
