The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

I managed to endure 20 minutes of the ordeal that is known as "Nudist Colony of the Dead".Sure, I knew it was going to be a low budget movie, and probably not even a good one at that. But this was just beyond what I was able to endure! The acting was non-existing and the make-up and special effects were just atrocious.I simply had lost my interest in the movie not more than 5 minutes into it, and decided to give the movie the benefit of the doubt and I ended up enduring 20 prolonged painful minutes.I have no intention of returning to finish this movie. I watched a restored version apparently, but the quality of the images were still shoddy and old.I can honestly not think of any reason why I would recommend this movie to anyone. So take heed and stay well clear of this one. Not all things involving zombies is made of gold.

NUDIST COLONY OF THE DEAD is a random, cheaply-made independent comedy horror film about a group of youths menaced by the evil spectres of former nudists who committed suicide due to the closing down of their camp. It's ridiculous stuff indeed, a film which doesn't really pay off the titular promise. The only nudity is presented early on along with a cameo from Forrest J. Ackerman (playing a judge, thankfully not among the nude). The film then descends into messiness and somewhat incredibly is a cheesy musical for much of the running time. It's quite dreadful.

this movie is absolutely hilarious; i recommend that everyone see this. Everyone seems to want to bring the movie down by pointing out how it pokes fun @ all these types of people (blacks, asians, etc.) but that is what makes this movie great. For example, the forest ranger that has to rap every story he tells, a style like the Will Smith style from Fresh Prince of Bel Air - he's the coolest person in the movie!GO buy this ish now!

*****WARNING THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN WHAT SOME WOULD CONSIDER 1 SPOILER******I happened across this film one Friday night at the Tower outlet video store. I was looking for a trashy low budget horror and got more than I bargained for. This movie is HILLARIOUS- Sick, twisted, and wonderfully low budget. So low budget in fact that there are some parts where the sound isn't even dubbed in. It would seem like the entire budget was wasted on a helicopter rental for a crucial scene (not so crucial that they couldn't have used stock footage). There are many problems with the film, like the one I mentioned above, but for what it is- a low budget campy horror musical with boobs- it's not half bad (and there is definitely a lack of material in that genre!)I wish it would be picked up by a better distributor who would market it like TROMA, and I can't help but wonder if there has ever been a stage adaptation, because I am seriously thinking of doing it. The songs are catchy and the gore is just perfect for the east village stage.
