Collectors have been known to go to extreme lengths to get what they want. For Motor Man Dan, the ultimate would be to have his very own serial killer, to fulfill his sick, obsessive, murderous appetite. Ryan, the victim of a terrible accident who suffered severe head trauma, would be that missing piece to complete Motor Man's demented collection. Motor Man would then tool and manufacture a half machine, half man, serial killer, which he would then orchestrate and produce an assortment of killing scenarios. From director Craig McMahon comes this gruesome/slasher tale of a desolate man that took collecting serious.

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.

It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

While driving through the Arizona Sonoran Desert, Ryan (Jose Rosete) runs out of fuel and he is forced to stop his car. The sadistic mechanic and collector of serial killer weapons Motorman Dan (David C. Hayes) runs over Ryan and brings him to his workshop, transforming him in a killer wearing a strange outfit. Ryan kills clients of the mechanic workshop for the pride and joy of Motorman Dan, becoming a serial-killer. Meanwhile his sister Angela (Patti Tindall) seeks out Ryan in the desert and meets Motorman Dan, who abducts her for Ryan, while her husband Clay (Mark Ray) chases Angela. The sadistic low-budget "Machined" is an annoying and tedious crap. The ridiculous plot is stupid, and the soundtrack causes irritation to the viewer. The unknown Patti Tindall has a good performance but is unable to save this fiasco. The fake reviews promoting this flick misguided my choice and I saw this garbage expecting to see a reasonable horror movie. My vote is two.Title (Brazil): "Oficina da Morte" ("Workshop of the Death")

This film is hardly a masterpiece but its still very effective with some really creepy atmosphere ala WOLF CREEK. Gore is quite low but there are some good kills . Big reason to watch it ,is to see the hilarious David Hayes playing the delightfully perverse Motor Man Dan. Other than Hayes, the acting is pretty bad.. ESPECIALLY the lead actress, yikes and that blind lady ..GOOD HEAVANS!! The director does have a lot of talent though and created an insane set in a some desert junkyard. He just needs more to work with. For a first time indie film on a shoe-string budget MACHINED does deliver as much as it possibly can . All I can say is more gore next time and nudity..just not Motorman Dan naked!

After viewing this film a couple of times and making a weekend out of it, I realized there was more to it after noticing the amount of credits at the end. Wow, this tells me no big sets, no big budget, and nothing more except for blood, sweat, and tears. You look around and take notice of the budget amounts on other films and you wonder, WHERE THE HELL DID THE MONEY GO? But you don't get that feeling with "MACHINED" and I'll tell you why. The writer/director/producer had to do everything himself. I can just see the actors now working as crew members and helping out. And that's true independent spirit. The performances reminded me of pretty much any other independent film I've seen in recent memory. When you have hungry actors with a director who knows what he's going to do even if he doesn't have the money in the bank to do it. These people aren't just going through the motions and saying their lines, and the director isn't just splattering blood on the wall with an occasional topless blonde running around. The characters in "MACHINED" were brought to life and they pulled me in. The world MOTOR MAN DAN lived in was one of sickness, greed, and something else that can't even be explained. He creates a man that has no choice but to be taken advantage of and turned loose to kill for thrills. Don't watch it if you want another "SAW" or even "THE DEVILS REJECTS" just expect a very well made independent film that sin't just a "HORROR" film but a movie almost anyone can be entertained with. It's a good story and the makers deserve a little appreciation.

Let me spell it out for everyone. And all you so-called horror experts out there posting like crazy butchering hard working filmmakers and the movies they make- shut up and take a seat. I've been looking around this IMDb site looking at some of the reviews for my favorite movies. I for one don't go for the big budget garbage that comes out now a days. There might be a good one here and there and I'll be the first to say that most low budget movies come out crappy because they had little or no money to make it. I rented machined the other night because the cover got my attention (and I'll rant about the cover in a minute) and took it home not knowing what to expect. Now the easiest thing in the world is to knock somebody else for trying. And when you pay your three bucks you have the right to express your opinion. And thats what this review section is for. But lets get something straight- I can appreciate a low budget movie with tons of effort and hard work compared to some goons with millions of dollars making crap. When something with a bug budget and I'm talking at least six figures comes along and takes a dump on our heads- that sucks. When these low budget films come along with no money just what they can work with- I'm for it. You can't fool us- the people who watch these movies and talk about them. If you make a movie out there and you don't put as much as you know you should into it- wee see it a mile away too- and thats when we tear your movie apart. When I see a movie like this- it has all the right tools and the little things add up for me when I watch this movie. It was made to be a real movie even if it didn't have money going for it. And about that cover- why is everyone riled up about it looking like the wolf creek cover. wolf creek didn't even go with that cover for the video stores. And wolf creek didn't impress me all that much to be honest. But if you think wolf creek is so much better than machined- it better be because it cost a millions bucks to make. So thats my point-when it comes to low budget machined is one of those that stands on its own two feet. Watch it- it's worth your four bucks. But don't expect anything other than a well made low budget movie.
