It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

This is a very...interesting movie, to say the least. The only reason I made it to the end was because I liked the storyline and the dancing. Other than that this wasn't a very good movie. The acting seemed very forced and robotic. It was like the actors were afraid to act. A lot of them seemed really stiff, as if they weren't aloud to move anything but their mouth. The way they said their lines was so unrealistic. They were just reciting the words from their script. They weren't engaging with their characters. The camera work in this movie was extremely amateurish and choppy. This contributed to a movie that didn't flow well. There was also issues with shallow depths of field (only a small area in focus) and shots that were too sharp. The whole thing reminded me of a soap opera, with everything being very sharp and clean.I think the music in this movie was exceptional. Every time there was music it fit the mood very well. A lot of upbeat music that had a real coastal vibe. One scene that comes off as very stupid is when Ken is dancing around because he's mad at Jennifer. I think this scene displayed his inner feelings. I see it as more of a metaphor than a literal anger driven dance through a hotel's property. That's my opinion. Actually, I think the whole movie portrays the idea of "dancing what you feel"

I have become especially fond of dance after many years of working at a university and learning many of the nuances of good dance. With that said, I would just guess that anyone who would not like this movie, simply doesn't like and appreciate the incredible art forms of dance displayed in this movie. Some of the acting was a little amateurish, yes, but let's be real, this is more about dance than acting. The storyline is very predictable, but but hey, what's wrong with boy meets girl. Especially, Richgirl and poorboy. Getting back to the dance, it was exciting, and truthfully I didn't want the movie to end Whitney Carson and Chehon were fantastic. Chehon had more energy and movements than I've seen of any male dancer. Some compare this to dirty dancing. Well clearly the budget for dirty dancing was higher, but not the talent. Chehon could dance circles around any of the cast for that movie Whitney stayed with him and had some moves of her own highly recommend if and only if you have an appreciation for dance.

If you like fun and dancing with a cute romantic story, this is a great little film for you! This was a fun escapism, put-a-smile-on-your face kind of entertainment, filled with lots of happy and young dancers competing for the grand prize. Sure the acting is not top Hollywood style, but it suits this kind of film. As it was directed and co-written by dance veteran David Winters, who appeared in "West Side Story" and choreographed Ann-Margret and Nancy Sinatra TV specials, I was expecting the low-budget production to be a lot better. Unfortunately it is not the kind of film that would be good enough for a theatrical release, but it is certainly worth a watch!

David Winters has made a full career in showbiz from his start on Broadway and film in the best musical ever made; West Side Story. 60 plus years as a producer/director/choreographer has not stopped him from always delivering the goods. Dancin' - It's On! is his latest and best film of his career. The movie is a cinematic event that I was hoping to see on the big screen, and my local multiplex just happened to provide me with an hour and a half of pure entertainment. Dancin'-It's On is a confection, a box of candy on screen, sweet and familiar. A schmaltzy storyline that is right out of the 60's, a modern fairytale with the princess and the pauper romance with all the trimmings including a noble footman, a fairy godfather, a hard head king and a beautiful castle filled with clowns and mimes and dancers. Set in Panama City, Florida at a lush resort, let the movie be!Winters has made an energetic and wildly fun dance picture with beautiful new talent, giving himself a plum role of the saintly godfather who teaches the young and handsome leads to win the big dance off. Action Icon Gary Daniels is the unwilling hotel magnate father who won't stand for it. Clichés are all here, but the fun part of this movie is it's nostalgic charm in a fresh package.Little things make this movie fun, like a concierge spouting Shakespeare, a doorman named Captain who pops into dance with everyone he greets. A recreation of the "fun day out" sequence from "Viva Las Vegas" (Winters taught Elvis to dance in that), "the angry dance" from Footloose, and a show stopping street dance right out of a Jerome Robbins play. Witney Carson is a cherubic young princess and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp as the dishwasher with all the right moves. Dazzling editing and scenic shots really work well, but the dancing is everything in a musical and this is a great showcase for talented people. Even Winters get to bust a move! Make time to see it in a theater and have a fun time. Enjoy!
