it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I really wanted to like this film. The plot seemed decent and i found the villains pretty creepy. The acting in this film though is shockingly bad. I mean really, really bad. There isn't a good way to describe it other than it's like watching a high school play, but in all honesty most high school plays have better acting. Marcelle Bowman was the only decent actor in the cast. The dialogue and delivery was just horrible from everyone else in the movie. There are quite a few plot holes as well. All in all, this could be a good candidate for a remake with some good actors and a new screen writer.

I will start by saying, this is probably the worst movie I've seen in ReBox for awhile. Normally when I review movies, I expect to find trash like this from the local video rental store. However, this is not the case. This steaming pile of filth uses an overdose of profanity to show that the characters are quite hostile with each other – I'm actually surprised that the team of friends that are out road tripping can even stand to be around each other the entire way to wherever their destination is. I was impressed by the fact the entirety of the movie has them at each other's throats with insults, not being able to cooperate and otherwise having mixed opinions of how to handle the situation when their lives depend on cooperation to get out alive. So what do they decide to do once they do stop at a local rest stop? Guns come out with a loitering bike group that otherwise has a stash of drugs on the line. They've set themselves up for trouble when they are running low on gas and must pull into an otherwise desolate and abandoned ghost town. Cannibals live in this town and they are suddenly picked off one by one; but not before figuring out where their friend from earlier disappeared to. Flash forward to the biker gang and we get to see some of them picked off by the cannibals also. The cannibals do have some strange ways of living – potato sacks over their head; but they otherwise come off as the typical backwater cannibals that are less than intelligent. The group of friends, as mention, get picked off one by one until only one is left and she is picked up by a random stranger and the movie ends. The acting is bad; scenes tend to take longer than they should or are included when they could have been omitted. The overall flow of the movie is also pretty clunky; too fast in some areas, not enough action in others, and the scenes which are good are overshadowed by the scenes which seem to take forever. I'm pretty certain one of the scenes with them mulling and debating their current situation; took about ten minutes; only it was closeups of their faces in the car while doing so.I do no recommend this movie and I recommend you stay far away.Originally posted to Orion Age (http://www.orionphysics.com/?p=9705).

It's obvious ANARCHYSOAP worked on, or acted in this garbage film. I find it interesting he mentioned character commitment, because while watching this piece of 5hit, I kept laughing at how the actors had absolutely ZERO conviction and telling my girlfriend about it over and over. Especially the least talented guy in the yellow shirt who was supposed to be getting married. He was the absolute worst, with second place going to the annoying 5hithead who gets tied up in the barn. You basically want to see this cast getting killed in the most brutal of ways, minus the girl because her body was pretty rock'n, and she had an attractive yet odd Maggie Gyllenhaal vibe going on. The first few scenes were nicely shot as the Mustang pulls into the rest area, and it makes you think it might be starting out good, and then it just collapses after the girl disappears. I've never seen a more disjointed film. Like 10 minutes of two idiots looking around, and you're thinking, wtf happened to the damn biker gang guy, or this guy, or this girl? I mean really stupid direction and pacing that's just awful. Mostly because instead of fleshing the story out, they added filler. I'd say 85% of this dung was filler. As others have mentioned, laughably long scenes of people hearing others screaming, and looking as if they hear nothing. It reminded me of WCW wrestling with Hulk Hogan seeing the image of the ultimate warrior in his mirror, yet Erik Bischoff couldn't see the warrior. WHA WHA WHAT???SO, endure this feces at your own risk. You have been warned.

Low budget movies are one thing, but total lack of acting talent is another. Usually you can find one "actor" that has a modicum of chops, but this is ridiculous. It's as if no one has ever acted a lick. Probably none of them have and they are all friends/relatives of the director. I could've done better and I'm sure I did even in grade school plays.Too many other movies to watch to waste 90 minutes on this train wreck.I would say I've seen worse, but I'm drawing a blank.I will say remember the director's name: Johnny Tabor. That way you can avoid anything else he may have the misfortune of writing and/or directing.
