It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

I have watched 1000's of Bollywood movies and trust me this movie has one of the Best Script and Actors. I was never a fan of Abhay Deol until i watched this movie and he's like the dream come true and Ayesha's character is so exciting that every women dream to be her.The main character Viren played by Abhay Deol is the character of a young boy in his twenties who's uncertain about his future, career and love, get confused in love and make beautiful mistake that lead him to a state where he has no way out other than hurting everyone. Though this movie is Abhay's first film his juvenile acting skills were I think best suited the character in the movie. Coming to the actress Ayesha's role is the best of all! She's this amazing young girl who is free spirited. Any girl who has gone through arranged marriage phase in her life can understand and relate to what a girl in India goes through to get married. The freedom to live her life on her way is what every girl dreams of and the thought of loosing her freedom to someone else is a dreadful dream for every girl including Aditi. Aditi in this stage of her life choose to have fun and make good use of the time that she's left of by taking trip to Goa and having fun with a bunch of friends. While she was having fun and being herself love comes to her unexpected. Here's is the best line of the movie "Time hai masti karo, kal kisne dekha hai?".The whole point of the movie is that love is what comes to you when you least expect it. It captures the true sense of it and the phases of getting it. Viren and Aditi fall in love when that was not their plan! There are other films that are inspired by this film like the Kangana Ranaut's "Queen" but none is as entertaining, confusing, crazy as this one. If you are not open minded, free spirited and crazy like the characters in this movie you're going to hate it because trust me this is no where like the traditional Bollywood movie's. So have an open mind while watching it and enjoy the ride!

Socha Na Tha. Literally, who ever thought that the first outing of love specialist Imtiaz Ali is an underrated and lesser known fantastic piece of cinema. From the word go, it's a charming tale of two strangers falling in love and not knowing it until its very late and then the chaos ensues. Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia fits into their characters so well that you really want them to be together. But it's Imitiaz Ali's detailed deep writing, heart felt dialogs and well etched side characters like Ayesha Zulka playing Abhay Deol's sweet picture perfect Indian bhabhi and Suresh Oberoi playing Abhay Deol's strict and loving father, who remain with you even after the end credit closes. The strange turn of events, polished performances, light music and charming dialogs make it a super romantic comedy with lots of heart. Don't miss it, if you ever come across an opportunity of watching this!!

I watched this movie for the first time in mid 2008. When I first watched it, it took me 3 to 4 days to come out of the movie. The characters were so cute, especially Ayesha Takia and Abhay deol. I became a fan of both from the day onwards. In the same month I had watched the movie minimum 10 times, I liked it so much..Even after 5 long years, the movie entertains me the same way it did in first time. The scene in which Aditi(Ayesha Takia) hugs Viren(Abhay Deol) in the title song, is the most romantic moment in the movie. This is one of those unluckiest movies in bollywood, which did not get the success it deserved, may be due to lack of star cast. But in my views, Abhay and Ayesha has depicted the characters so simply and nicely that u will surely fall in love with the movie..
