Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

I usually like dumb movies, provided they don't pretend they are something out of the world (eg. Jo Bole So Nihaal). The problem with "Fida" is that the makers think they have made some high tech movie, whereas this one is as dumb as possible. To start with, the hero Jai (Shaheed Kapoor) must be the dumbest of them all. When he sees Neha (Kareena Kapoor), he falls deeply in love (Even though he has Sonia (Kim Sharma) as his girlfriend). So much so, he empties a bottle of sleeping pills to get her love or death. Should have been busted then and there; would have saved himself and others lots of trouble.Sonia is intelligent enough to realize that she is stupid to love Jai. She promptly gets married and off to London. Good for her.Now the stupidity of filmmakers. At the very start a hacker siphons off a whooping Rs. 550 crore from the bank account of a don, Babu Anna(Akhilendra Mishra) and police can't do anything about it. As if banks allow so much transfer and money tracking is not possible.Akhilendra Mishra (if the name doesn't sound a bell was the famous "Krur Singh" in Chandrakanta) is a proper UP bhaiya who for some deadly acting reasons plays a Anna here. So here we have a Anna who dresses, has mannerisms like a North Indian. And tries to speak with a SouthIndian accent over his North Indian Hindi. Probably Akhilesh thinks he is Nana Patekar who have played both Anna in Parinda and a Bihari don in Apaharan, both great performances.Back to lover boy Jai. Neha tells him a cock-a-bull story of owing 6 crores to some bhai. Jai meets Vikram(Fardeen Khan), the hacker who will pay 6 crores but Jai must take on the crime allegation on his head.Jai takes the money, gives to Neha and surrenders himself to police. He escapes and finds then Neha is actually Vikram's girlfriend. Now you understand why he should have been busted long before.Anyway Jai feels bad and plots revenge which gives a lot more to display his dumbness...

the drop dead gorgeous figure who sweeps men off their feet with her beauty, and drives a man to want to commit suicide over her. Um, okay it might look good on the page of a script but does not translate well on the screen when people like Kareena portray it. What ever happened to the likes of Diya Mirza, Aishwarya, Preity Zinta and others, heck! I would have even settled for Rani or Esha Deol! Kareena just killed it for me. I saw her in that role of the DDG siren and I just couldn't suspend my disbelief long enough to follow the rest of the plot. Something about an internet bank heist and the stupid guy who falls in love with her takes the fall even while being innocent. Come on now Bollywood! You had a good script but the casting department should have seen better than Kareena Kapoor, or wait, did she use her famous surname to get this role too? Now why doesn't that surprise me. No Fida for me please!

The tagline of this movie is aptly kept: "Not all love stories have the perfect ending." The opening scene is interesting with an Internet hacker transferring a gargantuan sum of money from a underworld don's bank account to a Swiss bank account. The innocent, naive Shahid Kapoor falls in love at first sight with Kareena. At first, the film seems very melodramatic and filmi, but that is later understandable after a startling fact is revealed. Fardeen was decent, and Kareena was good. Shahid's performance was amazing. We've already seen that he's an awesome dancer; he's an even better actor now. He's definitely going to go places. Songs are good, especially "Aaja Ve Mahi" and "Maine Jisko Chaha." The story is very different. It's a good story, but it's not very entertaining. This movie is a drama basically, and the different ending leaves you with the feeling of a Hollywood film.

The subject of the film was very interesting, but the film wasn't treated well enough. I felt that the main twist when Shahid finds out that he has been betrayed was unfolded too soon in the storyline. And after that the film dragged up to the climax. Even the climax was not as 'shocking' as it was made out to be. The ending is not satisfying, it seems abrupt. For the exception of Kareena (who was awesome) no other actor delivered a great performance. Shahid was fine in the first half, but he seemed completely lost in the second half. And what was the reason for him to imitate Amitabh Bachchan in the finale (I wonder if anybody else noticed that). Fardeen was just about okay, he played the role of the suave Vikram nicely. This is Kareena's best performance to date. She looks gorgeous and makes a great looking pair with Shahid. The actor who played the don was horrible. He hammed throughout the film. The songs are good specially Maine Jisko Chaha and Aja ve mahi. Cinematography is fantastic. The film wears a posh and classy look throughout. Fida doesn't live up to my expectations 7/10.
