The acting in this movie is really good.

Chains - This movie is about breaking chains. The chains from our past, and the chains of our innate nature.The past can hold you in check. It can arrest you from being all that God intends you to be. Past failure, hurt, addiction, sorrow, anger, even affluence... also, Our innate nature draws us to things that have no profit in the long game. Selfishness, pride, greed, sensuality, revenge,,, This movie shows two people who have firmly decided that those past roads do not lead to the future they want; nor is it what God intends for them to experience. Each decides to make a change in their behavior "in the present" to walk a new road "into the future". Together with The Lord's help, they can see the light in a dark world. The light of faith, hope, and love that will last a lifetime.A lifetime God intends, free from the chains... Where He has paid the price to free us from those chains.

It's so rare nowadays to find a simple but deep reflection about models for dates, for male/female relationships, without presenting physical attraction as the main issue - we need time (at least, i need, as a women) to know the other one and to fall in love. We need to talk, to get to know each other... to became friends and, if possible, more than friends. It's not easy to present (or believe) in such a model, nowadays - and that's way i really liked Clay's strength to stick to it. But equally important is also the humanity and it's own "weakness" of the characters. They didn't do everything right (and weren't every time sure about the moves to take or how to act) just because they were christians (Clay, at least). And when it comes for the heart matters, it's even more difficult. So, their difference of perspectives is really enriching. They were sincerely opened to the the other's difference - and that's absolutely important in relationships. Waiting for the next movie, alike!! :)

Grab a comfy blanket, a bowl of popcorn and your sweetheart and watch Old Fashioned starring Rik Swartzwelder and Elizabeth Ann Roberts. The main characters as well as the supporting cast are so down to earth and relatable . You feel like rooting for this couple from the very start ! As most of us, they come with baggage from their past that of course weighs heavily upon their hearts. This really isn't the average boy meets girl story and to find out what I mean you must add this movie to your watch list. Guys, buy Old Fashioned DVD for your girl and believe me if you take time and watch it with her it will reinforce your feelings for one another. It shows that we can move on from our past, incorporate faith into our lives, be the people we know in our hearts we are and love without hesitation of not being accepted for our flaws.

My friends invited me to go and see this movie on Valentine's day the year it came out. I was so glad to learn that there was another option for romance movie other than the shades of grey. I'm so thankful for that. That alone made me sure that the Old Fashioned will be great. Excellent movie in every way. Its authentic. Genuine. I was extremely pleased with skillfulness and the talent in the way the movie was produced. It kept me interested the whole time, not many movies are able to carry that out. The actors are just perfect. I recommend this movie to everyone. Especially to those who want to learn about romance God's way, those who've been deeply hurt by relationships and hope to have it right someday. There is a more excellent way in everything, especially in romance. If you have a judgmental spirit and you do not respect sexual purity, maybe the shades of grey is better for you. I'd recommend you to consider to possibly watch Old Fashioned with an open heart to see a different way of a relationship. I've learned so much from this movie, it's a treasure in my library. Marriage is the one most important decision that a person can ever make in his or her life and never should be taken lightly. So deeply thankful for this movie and the producer Rik for educating people in a beautiful creative way about the most important issue of life: waiting for the right mate and marriage. Many miss the point of marriage: it's becoming the person you want to be with. You can't go into marriage with weak morals, character and full of lust, it will destroy it. Old Fashioned teaches and shows us in a unique way how to build a solid foundation in a person's character after suffering in relationships and in case of carrying the guilt from the dark past. Old Fashioned is one the few most favorite movies for me. I hope it will bless you.
