It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

This is a truly remarkable story! I highly recommend it to people who enjoy family movies. If you want to see a great Christian movie, see this! While I was watching the movie, I thought to myself, "Nice, but not real." SPOILER POINT --> It is not until the end of the movie you find out that it is a TRUE STORY! Look up 'Jonathan Sperry' as I did, & see more about him.

When this movie was released, the radio ads I heard led me to believe it was a 19th century mystery with Christian overtones. In reality, it was like the picture of your favorite DJ, who looks nothing like you envisioned him. My wife and I watched the DVD last night. I found it to be a well-done, well-acted movie about sharing the Gospel. Mr. McLeod is superb as the lead, with Robert Guillaume complimenting the nicely chosen cast. The props and settings are accurate and nostalgic. It made me long for the innocence of that time. With Easter approaching, we should all reconsider the claims of Jesus on our lives. This movie will cause you to do that.

I'd prefer to have seen Davey and Goliath. At least the threat of Hell would not have come into play. Comments about propaganda are spot on.This type of heavy handed religious syrup promotes a blind sense of superiority that has caused more harm than good in the world for centuries. Let's all go on a religious crusade. Look where that has taken us in the world today. Selling religion to kids with lemonade and cake is a pretty lame way to deliver a partially good message. Even so, the "screenplay" is pathetic. Why can't we learn to keep religion in the church amongst the flock? Aren't these many of the same "worshipers" that burn books and control freedom of thought?

Words can't express ... let's just say "Kirk Cameron loved it!" That's enough for anyone to stay far away from this film. But for deeper consideration - if you're the one of the few mind-washed true believers who wants to support faith-based film-makers, please put your money somewhere else. Communicating a strong message about one's faith is fine, but please find some writers who can write and directors who can produce more than simple god-is-great cardboard. On the other hand, throw your money down these types of rat-holes and keep self-feeding on your limited community! Eventually funding will evaporate and we won't have to be subjected to such cruel celluloid.Yes - I saw a prescreening - I was tricked into it and nearly duct-taped to my seat to see it through to the end because "I needed to hear it's message." Sheesh! If we're not intelligent enough to seek our own insights about the beauties of life, a film like this will destroy the last few brain cells left.I'd rather watch Love Boat reruns - at least I'd then get to enjoy the antics of Isaac, that wacky bartender.
