It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Despite being a foreign film, I really liked this movie. The version I watched was dubbed really well in English and had English subtitles. As far as being an original creepy horror film, I give this film top honors. It's better than a ton of the genre trash out there. I like how some of the disturbing aspects are left unspoken, unseen, and are merely suggested. It does has some nudity and adult themes, as well as one fairly brutal scene, but nothing is overdone or too extreme. As a matter of fact what would be the most disturbing scene is merely suggested.This is probably a horror director to pay attention to in the future.

Ahí Va el Diablo is an excellent horror film with a disturbing and retro narrative and a wide variety of domestic horror, from the supernatural variety to the more distressing psychological one. Shot in authentic locations from Tijuana and its surroundings, Ahí Va el Diablo takes advantage from the local taste and the performances in order for us to immediately assimilate the family dynamic between the characters. Sol and Félix obviously love their sons, but they also miss the freedom they lost when they became parents. That might explain the casual negligence which leads to the disappearance of the children, and the subsequent feelings of guilt and atonement which work as a subtext of the drama, where the possible supernatural events represent just a fragment of the family crisis. I liked the fact that director and screenwriter Adrián García Bogliano left some loose ends in the story, accentuating the mystery and the oppressive atmosphere which might have been diluted with too many explanations or literal interpretations. The performances express the necessary to impulse the story, letting the suggestive silences to outline the emotions. That's a risky strategy, but it works very well, letting the film feel mature and sure of itself. And the film also counts with good special effects which season the psychological horror, as well as a perfect soundtrack which doesn't only evoke the cinema from previous decades, but also fulfills with its mission of generating nerves and suspense. In conclusion, I liked Ahí Va el Diablo very much, and I hope more people discover it, because it truly deserves it.

Parents Felix and Sol take children Sara and Adolfo on a trip. Sara starts her first period, which is a temporary alarm. After visiting a medic, they return to their motel, and the kids want to go exploring again. While waiting, the parents get interested in each other, and the time gets away from them. The sun goes down and the children have not returned from their trek to a steep, rocky hill. The police wisely advise to restart the search in the morning. The next morning, the police return the kids.However, not all is well. Sara draws some disturbing art. Both Sol and Felix get unexplained bruises on their bodies. Sara has an unexplained seizure when she sees a man who was around just before the kids went missing. The parents do a dastardly violent crime at night. The babysitter has an horrific blackout. That is just the beginning of the family's descent.Is the family doomed, or will they find a way back to sanity?-----Scores-----Cinematography: 8/10 Good, but not great.Sound: 7/10 The actors were well-miked, but I was paying more attention to the sub-titles. The music was only mildly helpful for setting mood.Acting: 3/10 Some people were in front of cameras while they hit their marks and said their lines. I would not call any of this good acting, however. There was way too much time spent with the camera on Laura Caro's stone face while someone off camera spoke. Francisco Barreiro was quite unconvincing.Screenplay: 2/10 The film does tell a story, but it is neither interesting nor well told. The SFX and the hallucinations were not convincing at all.

OK I see the other reviews, and they must be from someone who works for the director. this movie was so poorly made and boring I could not watch it, and rarely do I run into a movie I cannot watch. I gave it 30 minutes thinking from above reviews that it would be good. But it was just so amateurish, and that made it very boring. The story itself is awful. the directing is well not very good. I like cheap movies and foreign movies, but this one is just crap. I wonder how movies like this even get funded? So I don't know what anyone would see in this. If you go ahead and watch it remember I warned you! So now it is up to you as to who to believe, about this movie. the review before mine said the same thing, but the others seemed to think it was great. The first part of the movie the kids disappear , they just walk off and you don't see what happens to them, then they come back acting weird. it has been ahile since I tried watching this so don't remember much aside from the first 30 minutes, which is basically what I just said, nothing be that happens. I skipped through the movie at the time and it was just silly.
