Everyone knows the story of the Titanic, how the largest moving object ever fashioned by the hand of man hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage and sank in the middle of the North Atlantic, and 1,500 lives were lost. The tragedy has been well documented in books and on films. No matter how often the story is told, it never fails to capture the imagination. It is a story that has left many questions unanswered, and the programme provides an intriguing hypothesis that the ship that plummeted two miles to the bottom of the sea was not the Titanic but its sister ship the Olympic. This film is based upon the research of Andrew Newton and includes the evidence of the British and American inquiries, the eye witness reports of survivors, newspapers of the day, photographs, video, film and radio broadcasts. The views and opinions presented in this film are based on actual evidence and legitimate inference. It may be the ultimate conspiracy – or could it be the truth?

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

Interesting, well-presented story of what might have actually happened - with the known facts that support this theory. Yes, it would be instructive for the viewer to see the actual documentation instead of admittedly guesswork scenes that reenact private conversations, but not many documentaries present such documents - they'd be pretty dry if they did.It does tell an engaging story about the odd events leading up to the ill-fated voyage, and present an alternate explanation of the horrible mistakes that history records - if this theory is true, the failure to launch the lifeboats until the last minute makes perfect sense. For history buffs, it's a good starting point for research. For the mildly curious, it's an entertaining look at what might have been a well-executed cover-up.

This movie is exploring a conspiracy theory about the Titanic. This is an interesting idea. However there are many problems with it. One of them being that the information is either told by the word of our host (meaning little evidence if at all) and reenactments. The "MP" on the titanic is even a bit of a stretch (because if "MP" was on the titanic people would be calling it The Olympic disaster). The courthouse reenactment scenes would have been so much more believable if they referred back to the original documents. I'm not denying that it was in the courthouse of 1912 but I think the original source needed to be shown, it would have been better because they said where they got the information from.
