A Masterpiece!
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
I was fortunate enough to see "Road To Austin" during SXSW. After enjoying five full days of music in "The Live Music Capital of The World", I can easy affirm that seeing this film was the highlight of my SXSW 2014! The film takes you through a musical history of Texas from the 1800's to the present day local "Austin music scene", and touching on the many genres that have evolved. There are numerous interviews with Austin celebs and musicians that have helped make the art of music such a powerhouse in Austin. The films highlights are of an amazing night of all the A-list musicians in Austin coming together with the late, great songwriter/producer/actor Stephen Bruton. Any true fan of music will find this film/documentary exciting and enjoyable.
