It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Films are meant to communicate emotions and this documentary reaches that goal by far. Unfamiliar with Fragile X syndrome until now, one can only imagine the burden this kind of illness must bring upon another human being and the people around them. Words like Love, Hope and Determination might seem feeble once written. It takes something like this film to reflect them in all of their meaning. So many stories have been told about reaching one's dream, but when you are set to make it happen for somebody else, someone you love, the outcome is bound to transmit that warm feeling deep inside that patches and redeems so many wrongs we witness most of the time. Then, you add Metallica to the formula and sparks start to fly...

What to say?! Inspiring. Amazing. Wonderful. All out rockin'! There aren't enough words to describe how incredible this film is. It takes determination, guts and, above all, love, to do something as incredible as "Mission to Lars" portrays. With so many families fracturing apart and people with disabilities marginalised, this incredible documentary shows the what so many people are lacking in their lives. You'll feel the love, you'll shed some tears and, by Jove, you'll feel the music! 10 stars isn't enough to rate this film. Heck, an entire galaxy of stars isn't enough. These guys have moved mountains and, hopefully, they'll inspire many more people to go out and live their dreams. If you see only one documentary this year, let it be this one. You won't regret it!

A wonderful insight into the life of people who live with fragile x, both the sufferer and their family. This film brings out all emotions and is very well documented. An honest display of how Toms siblings misunderstood him until they spent considerable one on one time with him.Kate and Will's determination to help Tom achieve his dream despite his fears and anxieties is admirable and the amount of things they had to overcome was immense and for that they deserve all the respect in the world. This is a must see film for everyone.

Fantastic!!!!! Loved it. What a film, thank you for showing it.Shame it's not on general release as others would do well to see this excellent film into special needs. Just left me wanting to know more that happened after the trip!! Well done also to the brother and sister who made this happen.Made me cry as my son has autism, hope his brother looks after him so well when they are older. Would love to do the same thing when he,s older, but his obsession is red phone boxes, so that is easier to arrange!!Excellent film. More please ......Can't wait for the DVD
