If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Average on the sex factor soft core porn flick with hot blonde women, each on their own. Kim Yates deserved the leading role because of her beauty and sexual attraction but she's a secondary character. Don't worry, she still has sex scenes. The leading actress is kind of old for these movies but she's hot anyways and demonstrates she knows how to turn on the audience. Her sex scenes are very hot mainly because her body is perfect. She's taken from behind on several scenes; don't think that the same scene keeps getting repeated. To be honest, this movie has not so attractive women (expect for Mrs. Yates). The lead actress is hot but not the typical woman for this erotic flicks. There is also a very tall blonde woman who isn't very sexy, but has "something" that makes her look attractive. The sex scenes look very real and are decent overalL. Some scenes are in slow motion. Give this one a try if it airs on cable.

Intimate Nights is a movie that seems to have been composed by some smart people. And while I applaud them for at least telling the man-made babes that they won't be needed, the film makers still drop the ball.J. Cynthia Brooks is Tina Tudor, one of the hottest exotic dancers in the U.S. One day, Tina witnesses her kindly club owner Leo get murdered by gangsters. She gets police protection because they need her to identify the killer (Collin Bernsen, yes Corbin's brother!) She is in the protection of two detectives, one of whom, played by Chris Johnston just got his promotion. This young man is in a bit of a pickle; he wants to propose to his girlfriend (Kim Yates) of 10 years, but he is captivated by Miss Tudor. Will he be drawn into her trap?First off, if the film makers wanted a beautiful natural woman to play Tina, they could have brought in the gorgeous Kira Reed, the innocent looking Gabriella Hall, or best of all, the knockout whose name is Jennifer Burton. Hell, imagine Gina Gershon in this film. Instead we get J. Cynthia Brooks, who has the moves but none of the beauty. Imagine an anorexic, uglier Kathie Lee Gifford as the woman men want to pay to see do a striptease. I guess alcohol consumption or women with visible rib cages are big in the U.S.Second, some horrible acting is in the offing. Jim Stevens, who plays the other detective, tries to be Sonny Crockett. I was waiting for Ricardo Tubbs to come with him on his rounds. LoriDawn Messuri, who plays his wife and shares the only good "philisophical discussion" scenes, overacts badly, delivering horrible Shakespeare filled with profanities. Brooks is awful, too. Only Johnston, Yates, and Bernsen deliver adequate performances. Also, some poor logic. Since when are club owners nice, kindly, middle-aged men. Why does the city have a lack of people in homicide? How can Johnston and Yates afford such a huge bungalow on their salary?Still, all the flaws made it a decent softie, but it could have been so much better. Oh, well...

Despite the comments below I thought this to be an excellent entry into the soft core erotica genre. The women are sexy, although not gorgeous, the men are quite good (unusual for this type of film), and the plot and acting are all decent. Besides, any film that has Kim Yates in it is by definition worth seeing.

1st watched 12/01/2001 - 2 out of 10(Dir-Jay Madison): Worthless, typical sex & murder movie that wouldn't even exist without the stripping and the sex in my opinion. It's amazing how many of these exact type of movies are made with different(usually unappealing) nude women taking off clothes for the camera. Please do not rent this movie so we don't have to see an Intimate Nights 2 - 3 -4 etc… and these actors & actresses can have better material to work with.
