Fantastic!
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
If you want something different, smart, unique and fresh from all the Hollywood blockbusters then this is the movie you need to see. For a first time director and first time producers, BERT AND ARNIE is a great start to their careers. This film was not meant for a huge commercial release but thats what makes it truly independent. There are moments when the comedy and sometimes the story does lack and you can feel the inexperience of a first time director but you have to remember that this is a team of newcomers and they are looking for their stride and place in the movie industry. BERT AND ARNIE is an honorable first shot at movie-making and rather than get drowned out by all the pomp and flair of Hollywood, give this film a chance and you will be satisfied that you were involved with something different.
