Samuel Peters (Edward Furlong), once an ordinary man, dabbles in the laws of voodoo to bring his wife back from the grave. He soon encounters the God of malevolence ‘Kalfu’ (Corey Feldman), and makes a pact with him to destroy the underworld and bring chaos to earth. In return, he will become ‘The Zombie King’ and walk the earth for eternity with his late wife. But, as the ever growing horde of zombies begins to completely wipe out a countryside town, the Government set-up a perimeter around the town and employ a shoot-on-sight policy. Trapped within the town, the locals, an unlikely bunch of misfits, must fight for their lives and unite in order to survive. Can our heroes unravel the clues in time and survive or will The Zombie King and his horde of zombies rise on the night of the dark moon?

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

THE ZOMBIE KING is a British comedy horror film, made as very much a SHAUN OF THE DEAD rip-off with northern-style humour throughout. Thus we get lots of exaggerated jokes, lots of lame character humour, and broad accents. The stars of the piece are ostensibly Edward Furlong and Corey Feldman, but both have little screen time and instead much of the narrative is occupied by a bunch of unknowns who go through the streets avoiding zombies wherever they can.Furlong has a supporting role as the titular character, a down-on-his-luck chap who accidentally caused a zombie epidemic when trying to bring his wife back to life. Feldman has a one scene cameo as the lord of all evil, if you can believe that. Most of the budget must have gone on flying the two actors over to the UK to shoot their brief scenes. The rest is a waste of time.

A British zom com that tries to duplicate Shaun Of The Dead, but no dice. The producers figured they would make more money if they brought over Edward Furlong and Corey Feldman to star in it. Maybe they should have done their homework. Edward is in it Furlonger than he usually appears in flicks these days. Corey on the other hand has maybe three minutes screen time. The film is just flat. You want it to be over after ten minutes. Most of the story is told through flashbacks but then show some of them again and again. The time lines get all funky to. This wasn't suspense just annoying as hell. The ending will bother people but by that point you won't really care.

The story focuses around Edward Furlongs character 'Samuel Peters' who isn't coping with the death of his wife, he turns to the Corey Feldman's character, voodoo god of malevolence 'Kalfu' to make a deal to re-unite him with his wife. When this going on we're also given the story of the people suffering from the consequences of Samuel Peters actions. The story follows the three main characters which are a Milk Man, Post Man and a Traffic Warden, the banta between them is what sets the tone for the film. Even though the humor can be tongue and cheek at times, it's what makes this a cracking little indie film. The film does have its flaws along with other B movies but this charming film can be forgiven for that as it has my favorite child star actors of the 80's anyone who is a Feldman or Furlong fan should watch this. Its on the same vain as Shaun of the Dead but a little darker.

I Have to say i was disappointed by the lack of gore in this film, as a zombie fan i enjoy watching a full blooded zombie vest... However i soon realized i wasn't watching the regular zombie flick i was used to. This film is very tongue and cheek and does not take its self too serious. (Shaun of the dead style) The comedy is great entertainment value it gave me a good few laughs. The actors were alright... I think there was some brilliant performance and others just okay... unlike other films this one actually had an actual a story. yes its got its flaws but I have no problem recommending this film if you like a giggle... some seriously funny lines.. well done to the writers.
